Celebrating Chief Mrs. ATINUKE ABIORO & Erelu ADEYANJU

…As They Bag Chieftaincy Titles From ONIPOKIA Of IPOKIA

On the Sunday 3rd of October 2021, the indigenes of Ipokia came out to celebrate with 2 big society women, Chief Mrs Atinuke Abioro And Erelu Sikirat Ejide Adeyanju, as they were conferred with chieftaincy titles. The Onipokia of Ipokia Kingdom, Oba Yisa Adeniyi Olaniyan who personally crowned the 2 society women with new titles spoke on the role the 2 women have played in the development of Ipokia Kingdom. Chief Mrs Atinuke Abioro who is the beautiful widow of Chief Bolarinwa Abioro received the title of Yeye Oriade of Ipokia Kingdom, while Erelu Sikirat Ejide Adeyanju was honoured with Erelu of Ipokia Kingdom title. She is a top Lagos fabric merchant and Iyaloja of Oshodi. In his lifetime, Chief Bolarinwa Abioro did a lot for Ipokia. He was the 1st Balogun of Ipokia & the 1st Seriki Musulumi of Egbado, while Chief Ishola Adeyanju was  the Bobagunwa of Ipokia land and also the Araba of Ago Sasa in Ipokia district. Erelu Adeyanju is the wife of Chief Teslim Ishola Adeyanju, who used to be very close to late Chief Bolarinwa Abioro in his lifetime.

Many prominent Lagos society women were present at the event. After receiving their chieftaincy titles, they proceeded to Ipokia primary school where all guests were entertained. Many of Chief Mrs. Atinuke Abioro were there to support her. They include Barrister Iyalode Shade Balogun who was in charge of the colourful aso-oke for the occasion. Others are Olori Omolara Tejuoso, who just celebrated her 70th birthday in September. She came with lovely Olori Yetunde Tejuosho. In attendance was Princess Ajike Sule, Beere Mopelola Adefuye, Mrs. Funmi Oyeyipo (retired Permanent Secretary), Mrs. Olufunmilayo Okunowo Tejuoso (Jewellery Merchant), Mrs. Omotayo Marcus, Mrs. Folake Onileere and friend from Minnesota, Alhaja Oluwatoyin Shitta, Mrs. Oyebisi Awobokun, Barrister Joseph Eze, Alhaji & Alhaja Hanatu Alli with many family friends and relations.

Mrs. Bose Alli and family members were there. Mother Celestial Mojirayo Alegbe, friends and family members came. So, also Mrs. Omolola Adelowo (the makeup artist) and Princess Fadeke Oyebola.

All the Alasalatu groups in Ipokia, numbering over 100 came. All the titled chiefs led by Yeye Oba of Ipokia, Alhaja Risikat Iya Ilu, Alhaja Mulikat Olaniran (the Yeye Bashorun of Ipokia), 2nd Balogun of Ipokia and his wife, Yeye Balogun Ambassador Adeshola Abolarin (Aro of Ipokia) and his wife and many other dignitaries, too numerous to mention the anniversary members led by Mr. Gasali Aluko, Mrs. Wuraola Arojo. Music was supplied by Evangelist Emmanuel Adebayo Kamiye LSB.

Let’s tell you more about the celebrity women who came for the event. Because Erelu Sikirat Ejide Adeyanju is a popular Lagos fabric merchant and the Iya Oloja of Oshodi, many fabric merchants came. We saw Alhaja Chief Mrs. Risi Odumosu (popular called Risi Kolex. There was also Chief Mrs. Rose Osipitan (CEO, First Royal Filling Station) Chief Mrs. Shade Balogun (who is into Aso Oke), Erelu Ronke Ijale, Chief Mrs. Basirat Ojugbele, Chief Mrs. Idiat Alli, Alhaji Seri Bashorun (Sherry land Fabric) & Blessing (her friend), Alhaja Ajoke (the junior sister of Sheriland).
