Yewande Hakeem-Habeeb is good at what she does. She is an award-winning fashion designer who creates great designs. This explains why she has a good and impressive clientele.
The big news is that she is planning to have a fashion show on 12th December in Lagos. She is the CEO of QUBRAZ Designs, which is one of the top fashion houses in Nigeria.A few days back, she spoke to Citypeople about her successful brand and what to expect at the forthcoming event.Below are excerpts of the interview.
Tell us about the forthcoming celebration of your brand. What are we to expect?
The forthcoming celebration Is The 5th edition of QUBRAZ DESIGNS YOUTH SKILL ACQUISITION AND EMPOWERMENT RUNWAY SHOW. The runway show will be different this year, as we have added unique activities that will make the event memorable.
With the support of our sponsors and partners like Gas terminaling, Mtn, NYSC SAED, Super secure, Sally’s pot, Blossom makeup, GoodLife magic, Spin city, clients and friends who have supported one way or the other, we will empower and showcase the creations of the promising designers from Qubraz Fashion Academy who have been newly introduced to the fashion world.
Tell us about your fashion label. How did you set it up?
Qubraz designs was founded in 2002 with a vision of building a global brand to cater for millions of people. My creativity, innovation and the vision to cater for millions of people initiated the setup of Qubraz designs. My love for trying new things, creating new methods and introducing new ideas also contributes to the set up.
Who are your clientele? What kind of outfits do you design? And at what stage is your brand now?
We cater to Young and Old women with a bold sense of fashion. Kudos to all our Nigerian clients ,they always keep up with the current trends and that makes them stylish. We design trendy ready to wear and made to measure outfits. We tend to make more of Kaftans. I love them because they are comfortable and never get out of style. Qubraz designs is still in the growth stage as we are trying to launch into different countries.
How do you see the fashion industry today?
There is probably no other line of human endeavour or industry with so much change like the fashion industry and this has kept fashion labels at the forefront of re-inventing, re-strategizing, and re-aligning themselves to rapidly evolving business environments and changing consumer needs.
Usually it used to be direct to consumer marketing but the internet has made things easier as fashion brands can leverage the internet for increased sales through direct marketing on social networks and with the adoption of social media into the fashion business the future looks promising.
What has kept you going all these years?
The business of designing, creating and innovating fashionable custom made clothing is what I love to do and that’s what has kept me going.
My passion is to explore new ways of making my clients gorgeous outfits and raise more Enterpreneurs through fashion.
