The stage is now set for the heating up of political activities in Rivers State as Barrister Dumo Lulu-Briggs the son of High Chief Olu Benson Lulu-Briggs has defected to All Progressive Congress-APC from Peoples Democratic Party-PDP. The kalabari born politician Dumo Lulu-Briggs at his Abonnema ward on Sunday 16th, 2017Â effectively joined APC members, hence fufilling his dreams of having a political space for the 2019 governorship race in Rivers state.
He was one of the 23 governorship aspirants in 2015 who challenged Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike in the PDP primaries but later joined Rivers Mainstream Group in protesting the way and manner the governorship primary was conducted at Orowurokwo Community Secondary Port Harcourt on December 8th, 2014. Professor of Physics Israel Owete led Rivers Mainstream Group where Dumo Lulu-Briggs was active could not wrestle political power from Ezenwo Nyesom Wike who picked PDP governorship ticket for the 2015 governorship election in Rivers state. Since then, Dumo Lulu-Briggs has been in political limbo unseen in the Nyesom Wike’s ongoing  4- years 1st term in office.
During the President Goodluck Jonathan led government he was appointed Chairman of Federal Medical Center Owerri, in Imo State. The London School of Economics Masters degree holder has everything going for him since 2003 when he ventured into contesting for Governorship in Rivers state first under National Democratic Party-NDP but stepped down for PDP candidate Dr. Peter Odili two days to election proper.
