WIFE DENIES BEING HELD HOSTAGE BY HUSBAND

-I was at my workplace during the claimed period – Mrs. Akaeze

Worried by a news report that surfaced online on Monday afternoon on www.vanguardngr.com which identified a certain staff of FIRS, Felix Akaeze, reportedly holding his wife and children hostage with a gun at their residence in Chevron Drive, Lekki, Lagos: the wife, Mrs. Juliet Akaeze has denied the news report in it entirety.

Mrs. Akaeze, while describing the news as a fringe of the writer’s imagination, stressed that she was sure that it emanated from the deepest part of pitch of hell with the sole aim to set her family on fire and distort the peace currently experiencing in her household.

“This is a very bad experience and an act of wickedness for my entire family, coming to me as a rude shock because nothing of such as reported by the newspaper ever happened to me and my children.

“I have been reporting every day at my workplace and attending to necessary assignments and job details on my desk during the five days reported that I and my kids were held hostage with a gun by my husband. The irony of the whole saga is that my husband was out of Lagos for over five days before he came back to the house, on Sunday.

“Since the fake and damaging report came online, several of my family members, friends and colleagues at work who we have exchanged interactions during the said period had been calling me fearfully, to enquire about my state of health and that of my children.

“I don’t know how a normal, healthy and pure family affair became a public knowledge that was targeted at smearing and damaging my privacy and peaceful living as a wife and mother. My husband is a responsible family man that works tirelessly to provide for his family to make us happy and stay safe and unhurt all the time,” Mrs. Akaeze stated.

Counsel to the family, Babawibe Gbenga frowned at the attitude of the writer and publishers of the news, saying “it’s evil, irresponsible and unreasonable act of journalism practice.”

Babawibe said his client family’s good image and reputation have been seriously battered and put to ridicule beyond repairs.

The lawyer directed both Vanguard online and the Twitter handle (eonsintelligenc/status) that reported the false news to immediately pull it down from their websites, while also publishing a retraction of the news, and tendering an unreserved apology to the pained family.

Failure to take the actions mentioned above, Babawibe said his client will approach the appropriate court of law to seek redress and monetary compensation from the affected writer and publishers.

The Vanguard online has earlier on Monday, reported that Mrs. Akaeze alerted one of her brothers through the phone early this morning. She told him that the husband said she must pay all the money he spent on her and their children else he will kill all of them.
