WHY SUPPORTERS SAY MAJEKODUNMI-ONIRU HAS EVERYTHING IT TAKES TO UNSEAT AMOSUN IN OGUN CENTRAL AS RACE FOR APC TICKET HEATS ON

by Reporter

Sometimes seen or described as a young incomer in politics, Princess Olatorera Majekodunmi-Oniru, on the contrary, has over 2 decades of experience in public and private leadership. An influential and cerebral advocate for development, her Curriculum Vitae puts her on a pedestal that warrants her victory in the 2023 elections.

Majekodunmi-Oniru is running for Senate, representing Ogun Central, a seat that currently has Senator Ibikunle Amosun on it. She is the only Ogun Central Senate aspirant that has declared her intentions to represent the district at the upper house of the National Assembly.

Aside from the incumbent who hasn’t declared but seems to have his eyes on a presidential position, other candidates who could be interested in the Ogun Central seat but haven’t declared include former senators, Lanre Tejuoso and Gbenga Obadara and also an unpopular Shuaib Salisu. In a race where the only advantage her opponents have touted is “experience”, Majekodunmi-Oniru wins in every area of the balance sheet, including the area of experience.

On review of her website, curriculum vitae and other public data, Majekodunmi-Oniru’s pre-senate experience has taken her through a climb of the world’s biggest companies and institutions from Sodexho to General Electric to Bank of America Merrill Lynch to The Central Bank of Nigeria to Emory’s Master of Business Administration to Ericsson Global to IMD’s Executive Leadership Program to Governor Sanwoolu’s Transition Committee to Harvard’s Women and Power Program, just to name a few. Her ethical rise and charismatic nature depict an excellent Senate candidate as women and youth demand increased representation in Nigeria’s Senate.

Isn’t it time to shake up men that have been in government for over 20 years with incomparable pre-senate experience, and infuse more diversity in our country’s polity?

The sooner Majekodunmi-Oniru assumes the senate seat, the sooner we collectively achieve our vision of a Greater Nigeria that maximizes the potentials of all classes of citizens including the underprivileged, the masses, youth and women.
