“You are everything in my life rolled in one: my best friend, my lover, my confidant and my soul mate! God has blessed me so much for you are my dream come true! A wonderful birthday, love! May you achieve your lifelong dreams and be filled with love and care all days of your life. Best Birthday, my husband!”

“We are not perfect, we fight, we argue over little things due to our individual flaws. In spite of these, here we are. We did not take the easy way out. We reconcile, forgive and work things out. I am proud of us, love. Everything that threatened to tear us apart only made us stronger. I am looking forward to 50 more years with you! Happy birthday! I love you to the moon and back. In spite of the daily dose of morning breaths and the occasional explosive farts and loud burps, you decided to stay anyway. There is no backing out now, my love. Thank you for loving the imperfect me. I love you now and forever. For me, you are stronger than Superman, richer than Batman, faster than The Flash and sharper than The Arrow! You are the only superhero I need in my life. Thank you for taking the decision of fighting life’s challenges with me. A wonderful birthday, my husband!

Cheers to 60 years of God’s unfailingly grace in the life of my lovely husband. Glad, you’ve made it this far, it can only be God. Thanks be to God for His inexpressible gift … The Lord of host will stand by you and bless you always. Love you forever …..”

His son also wrote a tribute:

“My dad is an example of a Superman who can do all things and solve all challenges in a twinkle of an eye. He takes good care of his children, especially me that have been privileged to school abroad-UK and in Ghana. Though, very tough to approach for finance but my mother is always handy to solicit for me before my request is presented to him. I love my dad and wish him long life in good health and more money”.

He is always encouraging me to behave well as the only daughter in the house and to make him proud. I’m using this opportunity to pledge to him that I, Adunola Afolabi would make him PROUD! Happy birthday, daddy.
