•2021 BIG Brother Winner, WHITE MONEY Reveals

Hazel Oyeze Onoduenyi, popularly known as White Money, was one of the celebrities who graced the soft signing of society lady, Yetunde Oduwole‘s book titled: Single Motherhood: The Success Manual.

The Nigerian reality TV star, model, and entrepreneur known for winning Big Brother Naija Season 6 last year, has turned out highly influential as many top brands now use him as the face of their products.

Speaking at the event which held recently, White Money took time to extol his mum for the upbringing she gave him, which has taken him far in life. Hear what he said about how his mum transformed him into becoming the person he is today.

“Most of you know part of my stories via the Big Brother show, so most of the things that I exhibited in that house were a result of home training. I got the home training from my mum, my biological mum, my spiritual mum, and my grandma.

“My biological mum taught me how to cook and clean, my grandma taught me how to pray, and my spiritual mum taught me how to pray too .

We are three boys, we don’t have a girl. I’m the last child and the other boys are now married.

Well, I wouldn’t say my mother was a single mum but I wasn’t with my dad.

He left us at a tender age, so, I was the last child, I wasn’t allowed to do hard chores in the house; all I had to do was cook and clean. That was what I did from the age of nine to sixteen when I left the house. I kept cooking and cleaning constantly.”

“Because of my mum’s condition, we were meant to mop the floor and clean the floor multiple times everyday. People were not comfortable with this. They kept telling my mum that you hardly allow this boy to go out. Everytime he washed and cleaned the house. She would say leave him. Then she would braid my hair and everything. I was like a woman of the house.”

“I learnt how to cook all kinds of foods and all manner of dishes . Fast forward to last year when I was into Big Brother. Getting into the house, I was honestly confused because everyone over there was super smart and talented. Everyone there was too smart for me and I was jittery. I was holding a NECO result which I managed to pass. So, the only thing I knew how to do was to cook and clean. I know how to compose songs and I write stories as well. I held on to that and knelt down on the floor. I was doing what I was trained to do as a child. It was impacted on me by my mum as a child. Then, I didn’t know it would work for me outside the house.

“I want to advise women of today to train their male children to be more responsible and hardworking. When you come to my house, you would see nothing less than 5 different already prepared foods in my fridge. Although I eat outside, I have to cook. I learnt how to do this courtesy of my mum. If I didn’t get anything right, I got home training 100 percent.

“It was when I came out of Big Brother that I had to go look for my dad and reunite him with my mum. That I would say remains the biggest achievement of my life.

“My dad is huge and came from the family of one of the first inventors in Nigeria. This is to tell you how big he is but I grew up very broke as if I was born by a nobody. So when I reunited my parents, my dad told me what I will never forget. He thanked my mum for bringing the children up that had he been around all this while, he would have forced me to further my education. He was happy that I’m now a Superstar. He said his leaving his family was by God’s design and honestly, it was truly God’s design. Maybe, if such didn’t happen, I wouldn’t have been where I am today. There are some situations we find ourselves which have been designed by God to make us greater.

“So, I therefore appreciate my mum, all single mothers out there. You are amazing and awesome. I want you to keep training your boys greatly.”
