Late Primate OMOLAJA OLORUNWO Comes Alive In LAGOS

•At The 2022 Xmas Carol Of OLORUNWO Cathedral Church

Primate Omolaja Olorunwo Memorial Cathedral Church of Cherubim & Seraphim, Gbagada, Lagos, recently held its 2022 annual Christmas Carol & Service of 9 lessons.

The 37th edition took place on Sunday, 11th December, 2022, at the Gbagada Church, amidst pomp and pageantry. The church, which Primate Olorunwo left behind, was filled to the brim. His very good friend, former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, was represented by his wife, Mrs. Bola Obasanjo. She came in very early and sat on the front row.

Since the exit of Primate Omolaja Olorunwo, the spiritual father of the church, the church has been wearing a new look, as the church leaders and family members have done much to retain the beauty and the neatness of the church.

Former President of Nigeria, Chief Obasanjo’s wife, Bola was warmly received as she stormed the event with her entourage and danced to carols and songs at the service.

Her Excellency, Chief (Dr.) Mrs. Olufunso Amosun, the beautiful wife of Ogun State ex-Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, who never misses the Christmas Carol Service was unavoidably absent but well represented by Hon. Wale Ogunyomade, who came in looking handsome usual in a white Yoruba native  Agbada.

He read a lesson.

Let’s tell you that Primate Omolaja Olorunwo’s widow, who turned 76 years on Tuesday, 13th December, 2022, led her Egun troupe. They also danced to appreciate God and Mama joined them in the dance. A happy birthday song was sang for her at the end of the Egun dance.

The 1st lesson was taken by Oluwatitofunmi Musa while the 2nd lesson was read by Prince (SP) Muyiwa Adejobi, Assistant Force PRO, office of the Inspector-General of Police Force Headquarters, Abuja. The 3rd lesson was read by Hon. (Mrs.) Ayotunde Lawal, Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Women Affairs. The 4th lesson was by Prof. Abiola Sanni, SAN, while the 5th lesson was read by Chief Tokunbo Omisore, former President, African Union of Architects. The 6th lesson was by Prof. Iyiola Oni, a Prof. of Transport & Geography (Unilag), while the 7th lesson was by Prof. Eddy Omolehinwa, a professor of Accounting in Unilag. THE 8th lesson was by Professor & Dr. Soga Sofola while 9th lesson was by Hon. Wale Ogunyomade, the representative of Her Excellency, Chief (Mrs.) Olufunso Amosun.

All hands were on deck to make this year’s Carol a huge success. All the late Primate Olorunwo’s children were up and doing. Venerable Barrister O. J. Olorunwo conducted the service. He did a good job. Aunty Agba played a supervisory role. She supervised the food served. She is the eldest. Special Mother-In- Israel, Mrs. Yewande Otusanya was in-charge of welfare. Senior Pastor E.I.O Olorunwo, M/SP Pastor, Lagos District Pastor/General Evangelist was also involved in the service.

Barrister Oketola Olorunwo Sam – Obaleye was also on her feet throughout the event. The Carol Service was well attended by many of Papa’s friends.
