How Pastor CHRIS OYAKHILOME Has Helped US Grow

Band UK is one of the fastest-rising gospel music groups in the UK. The extraordinary group is a product of the renowned man of God and and President of the Loveworld Inc., Pastor Chris Oyakhilome through the Loveworld Music and Arts Ministry (LMAM) under its director, the Highly Esteemed Evangelist Kathy Woghiren. LMAM was born with the mission of taking over the world with music and creative arts as inspired by the messages and teachings of Pastor Chris from the United Kingdom to nations all over the earth. The Ministry runs the Loveworld Creative Arts Academy and the Loveworld Records Label across several countries all around the world.

City People’s Reporter, Jamiu Abubakar (08085185886) and Photojournalist, Gboyega Adeleke met the leader of Band UK music group, Pastor Soskie Omoregie at a social event in Lagos, Nigeria. We had an exclusive chat with the gospel singer and writer where she took time to tell us how the band evolved and what has been working for them as gospel musicians in the UK. She as well acknowledges how Pastor Chris has influenced their growth over the years. 

Let’s tell you a bit about the highly creative and stylish Pastor Soskie. She is someone who has grown to prominence in the ministry. She plays many key roles in talent hunting and capacity building of the youths. She is the Coordinator of the LMAM International Secretariat and General Manager of the Office of the Director for LMAM International Affairs Loveworld Inc. The vibrant pastor is the LMAM coordinator of the International Regions, pioneering and establishing the LMAM structure in these regions. She also coordinates mass choirs, teams, bands, special groups and countless individual Music Ministers, Stars and Protostars in the UK and across the International regions. Below are what she told City People:

Tell us about Band UK?

The Loveworld Music and Art Ministry, United Kingdom, we are Reverend Dr. Chris Oyahkilome’s children. We are part of his team. We are with the esteemed director, Evangelist Kathy. The LMAM UK is growing. We are doing really well alongside our man of God. Any instruction from him, that is what we follow. We are basically taking God’s divine presence to the hands of the earth. We are demonstrating the character of God’s spirit through music alongside our vision, the vision of our man of God, Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome.

How old is the music group?

We have been into gospel music for about 12 or 13 years.

How have you been running the activities of the group?

It is beautiful by the spirit of God. The spirit of God leads us through our man of God. The instructions that we receive from our director is what we just follow. When you follow, you are loyal, you trust the process, you trust the structure, it is going to be easy. We are doing a lot of work. We are in the Music and Creative Art Ministry. We are right in the middle of the world but we are singers and ministers of the gospel. And so, we just know what to do and the spirit of God leads us. We can be very busy but we have capacity, we are able.

How do you get inspiration composing your highly spiritual songs, and how many songs have you composed so far?

Quite a lot! We have won several awards at our prestigious LIMA Awards with our man of God. We write songs inspired by the holy spirit through the teachings of our man of God, Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome. So, we have the world, like I do say, in a Loveworld nation, the word of God is real, the word of God is raw. Our man of God teaches us and we are inspired by these teachings. And so, songs come as a result of this.

You are a pastor who is very trendy and stylish, what informs this?

 I am prolific, I am very special. I am the beauty of God’s creation. So I know that God brought me this far. I am worth the blood of Jesus. In my own right, I am God’s brand and that influences my style. I am also in the music and art ministry. We have elegance and we are trained to be excellent in the things we do. And we know that the holy spirit likes excellence. And so that informs my decision about my style.

Tell us a bit about what you have learnt under Pastor Chris?

There is so much to say. The man of God has taught us to work the word. God’s word produces what we talk about in us. And if we trust these words and if we follow these words, if we follow the written scriptures; the words from our lord Jesus Christ, you will become what he talks about. And this year is the year of a prolific church. If you check the meaning of the word ‘Prolific’, you will see that its expansion is growth, capacity and increase. So please tell me where else I would want to be. I am a product of Pastor Chris. I am his daughter. I am proud to say I’m his member, I am his servant, I am with him until the end.

Do you have a church you run in the UK?

I am in the Love Worldusic and Art Ministry, but I attend a church in a group, in a zone, in a region.

Is there any major song the group is putting together right now?

We are working on songs. We have quite a lot of soul inspiring songs, many of them are from the teachings of the man of God. And our man of God helps us, guides us and even writes some of the songs for us. We are currently working on a lot of spirit filled songs and watch out. You will hear some new ones very soon.

What should we expect from the group in 2023?

2023 is a year of the prolific church. I am prolific. We are going to expand, we are going to increase, we are building capacity, and grace. So it’s going to be beautiful.
