As The New Olori Omoba Akile Ijebuland
Be the first to know that the ancient city of Ijebu-Ode will come alive in a few days time when the 9-day activities marking the coronation of K1 as the new Olori Omooba Akile Ijebu starts fully.
It promises to be a grand event and the President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu will be storming Ijebu-Ode on the 26th of September, 2023 for the grand finale of the event. K1 means a lot to Asiwaju. And Asiwaju also means a lot to K1.
Don’t forget that President Bola Tinubu was instrumental to K1 becoming the new Oloori Omooba Akile Ijebu.
Pres. Tinubu added his voice to K1’s moves to get Oba Sikiru Adetona, the Awujale of Ijebuland to make him the Olori of Omooba, coming after his predecessor, late Otunba Subomi Balogun.
Insiders revealed that this was one of the things Asiwaju went to Ijebu-Ode to do, when he visited the Awujale, a day before the last Ojude-Oba.
We can also confirm that Pres. Tinubu has given K1 his word that he will be in Ijebu-Ode with some Governors, Ministers and top government functionaries to grace his installation.
City People can authoritatively reveal that the activities marking the installation of King Wasiu Olasunkanmi Ayinde Marshal as the Olori Omooba Akile Ijebuland will start on Monday 18th, 2023 and end on Tuesday 26th, 2023 September.
Already Aso-Ebi is selling like hot cake. For Women it is Lace, Gele & Ipele. And for Men it is white attire with customised fila.
From 18th September to 25th September, 2023 shall be for traditional rites and installation processes associated with the coveted title.
The grand finale shall be on Tuesday 26th September at Oba Awujale’s palace in Ijebu-Ode.
The event will witness the presence of not only the President, but many Governors, Ministers, Politicians, Businessmen, Corporate Players, top dignitaries, and royal fathers.
The reception will take place at different venues all over Ijebu-Ode for various guests and the public at large.
And top artistes will be performing at these venues where food and drinks will be served.
A few days back K1 visited Aso-Rock to formally invite President Tinubu and to again tell him how happy he will be to have him attend his coronation.
Everybody is looking forward to this big party. It promises to be the mother of all parties. Some say its going to be the party of the year.
The big news is that in the next few days, Ijebu-Ode will come alive again when the coronation ceremony of King Wasiu Olasunkanmi Ayinde Adesanya Marshal, popularly called K1 takes place. The grand event will hold on the 26th September, 2023 at the Awujale’s palace and a grand reception follows.
Already, the Notification is out and all his friends and fans have begun planning for it big time. The women are not left out. His wife, Emannuella has begun plans, along with other celebrity women on how to make the day Glamorous. Of course, Aso Ebi is being sold. And guests are flying in from the UK, US, Dubai, Canada and other farflung areas of the world. Already all the big socialites from Lagos, Oyo State, Ogun, Ekiti, Ondo, Kwara and even Abuja are storming Ijebu-Ode on that day to honour K1.
As you read this, all the major hotels in Ijebu Ode have been fully booked by his friends and guests. His new Mayegun resort is fully booked. But that won’t stop all the super big boys from storming Ijebu-Ode on that day. Of course, his friends in Ijebu-Ode are getting prepared to host the Olori Omoba & his friends.
From what City People has gathered the ceremony is going to be grand and many artistes are already lobbying K1 to perform. All the big Fuji artistes are on standby. What is going to make this party all the more grand is the uniqueness of the ceremony. This is the 1st time in history that such a huge ceremony will take place in Ijebuland.
Already billboards and flexis have been erected on major streets in Ijebu-Ode and the celebrant himself has gone ahead to repaint his Fidipote family house in Idewon area of Ijebu-Ode.
As you read this right now, it is a carnival like atmosphere in Ijebu-Ode as many Ijebu people are looking forward to the ceremony.
For those who still don’t catch the drift, lets quickly tell you about the ceremony.
Recall that one of the high points of the last 2023 Ojude-Oba Festival in Ijebu-Ode was Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona’s decision to make K1, the new Olori Omooba Akile Ijebu and head of the Fidipote Ruling House. By that title, he has now become the Head of the Fidipote Royal Family and the overall Olori Omoba.
The title is the Olori Omooba, just as he is the Olori Fidipote Ruling House. Don’t forget that the Alaafin made him Mayegun of Yorubaland a few years back.
When the Awujale dropped the bombshell in his speech at the Ojude-Oba, there was a resounding applause and Apala King, Musiliu Haruna Ishola, who was on band stand, already holding the microphone, ready to sing, sang a short song, eulogising K1. Don’t forget that K1 and Musiliu are close. They are brothers. K1 is older than him.
After Awujale announced it, K1 was allowed to respond to Awujale’s Golden Gift to him. K1 filled with emotion, thanked the Awujale for giving him such a big title when he least expected it. He promised not to disappoint him and members of the Fidipote Ruling House. He also thanked all the Ijebus for their support. As he was speaking he broke into tears of joy and he had to be encouraged to continue.
Awujale’s appointment of K1 as the Olori Omooba came as a big surprise to many Ijebu people. It was unexpected. They were not expecting such a big honour at the Ojude-Oba. It was not listed on the programme of events in the brochure. It came towards the end of the event, when the Awujale was called on to address the audience.
City People can tell you how the decision was taken by the Awujale. Many don’t know that K1 is a Prince from the Fidipite Royal Ruling House. Following the death of Otunba Subomi Balogun who was the Olori Omoba Akile Ijebu, the title moved from the Fusengbuwa Royal Ruling House (of which Tunwase Royal Ruling House is an integral part) to another Ruling House, the Fidipote Royal Ruling House. Wasiu Ayinde Marshall Anifowose is a Prince from the Fidipote Royal Ruling House. Kabiyesi Awujale simply exercised his power as the prescribed authority and paramount ruler of Ijebuland.
But some guests at the Ojude Oba had suspected something was about to happen, at when K1 breezed into the Pavillion Grounds at about 10.30am. He usually does not attend Ojude Oba. He has not attended the last few Ojude Oba Festivals. But this time around he did. He came in with many of his Boys and Associates.
Immediately, he walked in, he went round the mainbowl of the Royal Pavilion, venue of the Ojude Festival to greet all the Regberegbe members. Many people also don’t know that K1 is a member of a particular Regberegbe. He is a valued member of the Egbe Bobakeye Akile Ijebu, headed by Giwa Biodun Onanuga. K1 is the Gbobaniyi Egbe Bobakeye.
After he arrived the venue, he went to greet his Giwa and members of the Egbe. But noticeable he didn’t wear the same official white Aso-Ebi and Fila which all the members wore. He also didn’t sit at the arena with them. He went to sit in the VVIP wing, upstairs, where the Awujale and other dignitaries sat.
Over the last few years, a lot of positive things have been happening to K1.
That is why many believe King of Fuji music, K1 is a very lucky man. He is a man blessed with the Grace of God upon his life. And he has become increasingly lucky with the wide acceptance that his music has received, globally.
That he is popular is no longer in doubt. That his music is widely accepted is not debatable.
Over the last 5 years, he has moved from Glory to Glory. He himself has stepped up his game. He has made his music very appealing to the vast majority and he has made Fuji music danceable. No wonder, there is a huge demand for him.
Practically everyone wants him to play at their party. People now book months ahead, to get a slot. People approach him first before they pick a date for their parties, because it may change if K1 is not free on the day they chose.
