The Rivers State political landscape has been very quiet and serenity has remained the hallmark of former Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike’s led administration before he exited from office as the River State Governor, irrespective of how political opponents tried to make that era look . Inside his kitchen cabinet, were strong men and women who piloted the affairs of Rivers State from 2015 to 2023 and at the end of political manoeuvrings Honourable Prince Felix Nwaeke became a strong political ally to Nyesom Ezenwo Wike. Although there was a period he disagreed with his friend the then governor Wike and he joined All Progressive Congress- APC in Rivers State along with Senator Allwell Onyesoh and Senator Magnus Ngei Abe. Upon his return to the mother political party People’s Democratic Party-PDP, he warmed his way back to the heart of Governor Nyesom Wike.

Honourable Prince Felix Uche Nwaeke, hails from Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State, where he emerged as the elected Chairman of Oyigbo Local Government Area from 2011 to 2014.

Today he represents the good people of Eleme/Tai/Oyigbo Federal Constituencies in the Federal House of Representatives, Federal Capital Territory-FCT Abuja.

At Adam, the headquarters of Oyigbo Local Government Area, you have another very important Federal Government presence in terms of Electricity generation Power Plant which is electricity generation hub comprising a gas plant of 450 Megawatts, gas fired Power Plant popularly known as AFAM IV. This is now being managed by Tony Elumelu owned companies.

Nwaeke whose campaign slogan FUN2023, did introduce seamless approach to grassroot politicking which was made available through the achievements of Rivers State former Governor Wike who was known as “Mister Quality Projects” an identity the former Vice President Professor Yemi Osibanjo christened him while commissioning some projects in Rivers State.

Honourable Prince Felix Nwaeke started his secondary education at the prestigious Catholic owned Stella Maris College Port Harcourt Old Township. He was born in 1963 and he holds Rivers State Distinguished Service Star DSSRS award and Member of Federal Republic-MFR. He is married to a very beautiful light complexioned women of honour.

A closer look at the prestigious political background of Rivers State born Prince Nwaeke showed that while he was Elected Chairman of Oyigbo Local Government Area, his administration funded the construction of Constituency projects in the ten electoral Wards of the Local Government Area. He was able to galvanize support for the youths in the Oyigbo Local Government Area as his administration recruited over one thousand Marshalls who secured the nooks and crannies of the Local Government Area, making it one of the most peaceful Local Government Areas from 2011-2014. His soft spot for the downtrodden led his administration to engage widows in monthly interaction with his wife spearheading the programme. He made sure that those working in his administration lived well as they were all provided with brand new cars: some of those who benefit from this were the Legislative Councilors; Vice Chairman; Chief of Staff; and Principal Officers. This gesture was to ease their logistics while working with him. One outstanding landmark project he engaged in which attracted the attention of the then Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi was the construction and furnishing of Oyigbo Local Government Council while they were all members of People’s Democratic Party-PDP.
