Former Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 2 in Onikan, Lagos, CSP Dolapo Badmos, who was recently promoted to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police, was decorated by the Inspector General of Police, Dr Kayode Egbetokun.
On January 24th, 2024, the Police Service Commission chaired by Dr Solomon Arase CFR, released a statement signed by Ikechukwu Ani announcing the promotion of several police officers. The statement indicated that 14 Commissioners of police were promoted to Assistant Inspectors General of police, while 21 Deputy Commissioners were promoted to Commissioners, and 20 Assistant Commissioners were promoted to Deputy rank. Additionally, 109 Chief Superintendents of Police were promoted to Assistant Commissioners of Police.
The Inspector General of Police, Dr Kayode Egbetokun Ph.D, recommended the promotion of several officers to the Commission. Among the deserving officers recommended for promotion from Chief Superintendent to Assistant Commissioner is Dolapo Badmus. Until now, she served as CSP Administration at the Provost Marshal, Force Headquarters Abuja.
As per the statement, the newly promoted officers were urged by the commission’s chairman, who is also a retired IGP, to quickly adapt to their new ranks and work towards defeating all forms of criminal activities in the country.
