Remo Secondary School Old Students ‘Association, RSSOSA and the National Executive Committee held an extraordinary meeting to make RSS great again.
The event held at the RSS School Hall, Sagamu on June 22, 2024, featured the Ratification of the revised 2024 constitution, town hall meeting, 2022-2024 performance scorecard, and updates on the election process.
Aare Adetola Emmanuelking, GM, Adron Homes and Properties, and RSSOSA National President said that coming together is the beginning of a success story, staying together is the process, and working together is the ultimate success. “This is a sentiment word from Henry Ford, but as we gather today to give a blow-to-blow account of our stewardship, it is a profound moment of accountability and appreciation of a job well,” he said.
According to him, the achievements are not only measured by the duration of efforts but also by the strength and foresight of the master plan laid for the future. “This foundation, carefully crafted by our administration, is designed to inspire and propel ongoing progress.
“Just as the foundation of a building inspires further construction, our foundational efforts will foster continuous growth. Our vision is a grand, skyscraper future, and together, we can all achieve it,” the President general said.
He also pointed out that the administration has initiated several transformative programs such as Subject Enlightenment, Students Corner, Club and Society initiative spotlights, Teacher’s Corner holiday coaching, and Social relationships in academics.
He concluded by saying: “Additionally, we have enacted a new constitution that promotes inclusive representation and clearly defines the roles of all executive members.
For the first time, we have roles such as legal secretary, Project secretary, and Academic secretary, ensuring a robust support system for our endeavours. This constitution is designed to expand our operations and increase our portfolios for continued success,” he said.
Elder of the association and set of 1968, Mobolurin, chairman, of First City Monument Bank, FCMB in his goodwill message, said that encouraged the members and advised them to come tighter to enlarge in the betterment of each other.
Commissioner for Environment, Ogun state, emphasized academic reports from the school for both students and teachers to elevate the spirits of the present admin.
Meanwhile, the president addressed the bad scenario that happened in the school in May, where marijuana was being sold to the students from the school fence from some of the shops built around it. “We thank the Commissioner for his quick response in sending his workers to eradicate all the shops around the school fences,” he said.
In the course of the event, the constitution was revised by the committee and the president, which was passed to the general public for ramification by Barr. Salau.
Some constitutions were amended, with a long debate and deliberations going on regarding the length of years a member of the Board of Trustees, BOT would stay. This continued until it was concluded and agreed that each member of the BOT would serve for life.
The president in his conclusion reflected this association was established on December 24, 1964, which in turn stated that when a member of RSSOSAns is in a political office, the association should utilize it, so that RSS can move forward, and also commit the person with an honoraria membership.
