Fashion has been a thing of many generations that will still be passed on to generations yet unborn. Trust Nigerians to always elaborate things- it’s in our blood, I guess. We’re always committed to what we do.
Everything about us is always in game-changing mode as we do not allow moments of recognition to slip away. Our high adaptability has helped us embrace several fusions from different tribes, in many areas, especially fashion- Consider the colourful fashion that was presented at Moses and Marie Bliss’ wedding ceremony earlier in the year. It seems Nigeria and Tanzania will be setting a new one soon.
Few days ago, Priscilla Ajoke Ojo and her celebrity mother, Iyabo Ojo sensationally buzzed the screen of fans and followers with videos of the romantic engagement between Priscilla and Jux and those of a lavish welcome party for Jux; a party that screamed class and the same gesture was returned to our “princess” when she arrived in Tanzania with Jux.
The attention of single and married “online in-laws” have been massively drawn to the daily updates on the romantic relationship and Priscilla’s intending new family.
Jux, born as Juma Mussa Mkambala on September 1, 1989 is from a family of 4- his 2 siblings, mother and himself. There have been rumours and controversies surrounding the newly announced relationship, Priscilla says she’s “happier than ever”.
One evident thing concerning this beautiful family is “fashion”. Every one of them, including the mama is a “fashionista”. From the individual Instagram accounts of each child in the family, it is evident that they all run the fashion business.
35-year-old Jux, as a lover of trendy fashion launched his fashion brand, “African Boy “in 2018. He curates, designs and models for the brand. This brand majorly caters for youthful, playful and trendy hot looks. The brand is quite popular in East Africa and his “fashion fever” might spread to Nigeria soon.
Jux’s sister, Fatima, runs Star Look clothing store; a female fashion store that sells trendy corporate and casual feminine dresses and accessories. Since the announcement of the engagement, as the Nigerians we are, with our supportive spirit of patronage, Fatima has tendered a “heartfelt” appreciation to Nigerians for the support and still mounting up with extra energy to deliver better services and collaborations.
His brother, popularly known as Mkambala jr seemed to just set his foot into the business. Although he’s a newbie, his business collection seems to be of top-notch quality, reserved for the best.
Priscilla Ojo here in Nigeria, runs a luxury clothing brand, “Priscy Closet” and “Priscy Luxe”, a luxury handbag brand. She’s also the ” face” of beauty places like Beauty Hut Africa, etc. Even her mother, popularly known as “queen mother” is the “mother that mothered their mother”. When it comes to this fashion game, the star actress cannot be pushed behind the crowd.
Honestly, it seems fashion in celebrity weddings is about to make a new history. As we anticipate the wedding ceremony of the 2 love birds, we eagerly await a classy and elegant fusion of Tanzanian and Nigerian fashion sense. Waiting seems a little long right? But we hope to be able to style ourselves in the fusion and rock with confidence.
