In its bid to make water available to rural communities, the Osun State Commissioner for Rural Development and Community Affairs, Hon. Gani Olaoluwa, commissioned motorized borehole projects in Odogbo-Ijesa, Atakumosa East Local Government, on Wednesday, January 8, 2025.

Alh. Olaoluwa, popularly known as Asejere in the Osun State political circle, said at the commissioning that the gesture was part of efforts to fulfill the campaign promises, as water provision was part of democracy’s benefits to the community and the entire public.

“Please see this project as your own; work in unity to maintain it so that the government will not hesitate to come to your aid when you need more. Water has many benefits for humanity that its absence can cause a health crisis; for us to preempt that, the administration of Sen. Ademola Adeleke is poised to make water available throughout the nooks and crannies of the State,” said Alhaji Olaoluwa.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Chief Mrs. Osewa, the community woman leader, appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Rural Development and Community Affairs for providing a borehole for Odogbo-Ijesa Community and public usage.

“I want to express our profound gratitude to the Osun State government and also appreciate the effort of our traditional leader HRH Dr. Olatunde Oginni (JP) for this laudable gesture of bringing this development to the Odogbo-Ijesa community. We will continue to remember the Osun State Governor for a long time, she said.
