#CPMA2017: 20 Songs/Artist, 12 Music Genres, 10 Music Media Categories To Be Contested.

This is probably one of the factors why the City People Music Awards Is going to be Nigeria’s biggest Music Awards ever with the largest reach. In its usual tradition to celebrate a wider range of showbiz personalities who have done remarkably well during the course of the year annually, via it’s City People Entertainment Awards which spanned from the year 2010 to 2016 with 7 different editions, the newly birthed City People Music Awards which would handle only the music related aspect of the Entertainment industry with an additional slot for the “Comedian Of The Year” would have 20 Songs/Artistes categories where the top 5 songs and music acts of the year would contest for the plague as winners. The CPMA2017 would be the first ever award in Nigeria to have 12 Genres of music contested giving recognition to genres like Apala, Juju, Jazz, Waka, Fuji amongst others. OAPs, Presenters, VJs, Radio and TV stations with the best music inclined contents are also on contention at the awards. The peak of the Plague ceremony would be the Special Recognition and Honouring of over 20 prominent figures in the music industry who have played massive roles in respect to its development thus far.
