Bigi Music Competition awards ₦1 million to three emerging campus performers as the tour heads to KWASU.
Abdulrazak Saubana, popularly known as Savahdor, has emerged as the winner of the Bigi Music Competition at the University of Ilorin, taking home ₦500,000 and earning top honours in a contest that put emerging campus music talent in the spotlight.
Mohammed Abdulrasheed Ayomidimeji, known on stage as Bamz, finished as first runner-up, winning ₦350,000, while Adenekan Victoria, who performs as Rhieyha, placed second runner-up with ₦150,000. The three winners shared a total of ₦1 million in prize money.
The competition was a highlight of the Soundcity OnTour experience at the university from October 26 to 28, where music and live entertainment brought students together and gave aspiring performers a chance to showcase their abilities to a wider audience.
Powered by Bigi and Fearless Energy Drink, Soundcity OnTour is travelling across Nigerian universities, combining campus entertainment with platforms for young people to express themselves and discover new opportunities through music.
For Bigi, the competition reflects a commitment to connecting with young Nigerians through their interests while creating room for emerging voices to be heard.
“Soundcity OnTour allows us to connect with young Nigerians through something they genuinely love. Beyond the excitement, we want to create moments that bring students together and give emerging talents a chance to showcase what they can do,” said Biola Aransiola, Brand Manager, BIGI.
Following the excitement in Ilorin, Soundcity OnTour moves to Kwara State University (KWASU) from October 29 to 31, bringing the experience to another campus community and allowing more aspiring performers to step into the spotlight.
For the three winners in Ilorin, the competition delivered more than prize money: it gave their talent a moment to shine. At KWASU, the search for the next standout campus performer continues.
