Preparations are in top gear in the family of late Taoreed Faronbi (Baba Alado) as all is set for his 41-day final burial party, which promises to be one of the biggest social gatherings in Lagos this year.
The grand finale reception will hold on Thursday, 12th November, 2026, at the popular NITEL Ground, Oshodi, Lagos. Family sources disclosed that the committee of friends and children have been working round the clock to give the late patriarch a befitting farewell.
Baba Alado, who was a dominant figure within the Omo- Onile rank and the NURTW during his lifetime, will be celebrated in grand style as expected. And the family is leaving no stone unturned to make the day memorable – from catering to decoration to security and hospitality, everything is being handled with class.
The major highlight of the moment is the beautiful Aso-ebi chosen by the family for the final burial.
The Ankara is already the talk of town in Lagos society circles. It is classy, rich and befitting of a final celebration of life. And according to family insiders, it is selling fast.
Many Lagos society women are already rushing to buy the clothes for the final reception of Alado, as no one wants to be left out of the glamorous roll call expected on that day.
For interested persons, one of Baba Alado’s daughters, Fatima, is at the forefront and one of the main contact persons. Interested guests are enjoined to contact her directly on 07013380363 for purchase and collection.
The price has been pegged at a very affordable rate despite the quality:
* Male package – Ankara and Fila goes for N55,000Â
Female package – Ankara and Gele goes for N60,000.
Family sources say sales have been impressive since the fabric was released last week, and remaining stock may not last till next week.
To add colour and prestige to the occasion, Fuji music icon, K1 De Ultimate, is expected to be live on the bandstand.
With K1 on stage, guests are already assured of a full dose of entertainment and Fuji vibes as Baba Alado is sent off in grand style.
