Kano Pillars defender, Chinedu Udoji has been reported dead in a ghastly auro-crash.
The former Enyimba captain died Saturday night following a car accident in Kano.
Udoji was Man of the Match in Sunday’s NPFL Week 9 match against his former club Enyimba, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
An official said Udoji was heading back to the Pillars’ clubhouse after he visited his former Enyimba teammates in a hotel when he was involved in an accident which cost his life.
His death was disclosed by his former club, who reported him dead on their twitter page.
“We are distraught at the news of the passing of club legend and former captain, Chinedu Udoji. Our commiserations are with his family at this time”, it read.

The former Enyimba captain died Saturday night following a car accident in Kano.
In a tweet on its official Twitter page released, NFF expressed shock on the death of the player who won Man of the Match in Sunday’s NPFL Week 9 match against his former club Enyimba.
The tweet read “The demise of @pillarsfc defender Chinedu Udoji comes as a rude shock to us this morning.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and club. May his soul rest in peace.”
