The Minority Leader of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, is on the verge of formally sealing his return to the All progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
This was affirmed at the ongoing APC rally in Ikoi-Ekpene, Akwa Ibom state where a mamot crowd filled the stadium to show solidarity to the ruling APC.
Some of the dignitaries present at the event includes; Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, National Publicity Secretary, and Adams Oshiomhole, National Chairman.
Among senators in attendance are Abdullahi Yahaya, Abdullahi Gumel from Jigawa State, Muhammed Sani from Niger State, Gbenga Ashafa from Lagos State and Abdullahi Adamu (former Governor of Nasarawa State) from Nasarawa State.
Defection has been the latest trend in Nigerian politics in the last few weeks. Recently, 37 members of the house of representatives defected from APC to PDP while 14 senators also joined the trail.
Six members of the Kano state house of assembly also defected from APC to PDP on Wednesday morning.
