The National Sports Festival Southwest zonal eliminations earlier scheduled to hold at the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan between 9th and 14th of October,2018 has been postponed.
This is contained in a press statement issued by the zonal coordinator, Mr Olufemi Ajao.
Mr Ajao attributed the postponement to the pleas by the states in the zone in order to give room for active participation and successful eliminations devoid of inequality and favouritism.
He said as major stakeholders coupled with the proper consultations and approval from the headquarters of the ministry of sports in ABUJA, the eliminations have been shifted for a week.
The statement reads in parts” I hereby wish to inform you that the Zonal Elimination has been moved forward by a week thus:-
1: 16th October 2018-Arrivals
2: 17th October 2018-Accreditation and Technical Meetings
3: 18th-20th October 2018-Competitions
4: 21st October 2018-Departures”
The Zonal coordinator, however, informs the stakeholders that there will not be any changes in the dates any longer.
