Check Out This Beautiful Eco-Friendly House Made Of Weed

by Daniji Emmanuel

We’re welcoming escapism in any form at the moment. While the globe’s political architecture burns into ashes, let’s step inside the walls of a real architectural delight to refresh and rejuvenate our minds.

A stunning house has been built in Israel that utilises the power of nature’s often overlooked offerings: it’s made out of weed. And we’ve got some beautiful photos of the dream house to show you. So switch off, and imagine yourself in this zen place.

Overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the construction in the rural village of Ein Hood is the country’s very first cannabis house. Pioneered by trailblazers of eco-architecture Tav Group and built by craftsmen from the area, the condo is a true achievement of beauty and benevolence.

Amongst the surrounding olive trees and sandy hillside stones, the minimal yet polished villa resides at harmony with itself and the cliffs of the landscape, like a weed-infused chameleon.

It’s not only beautiful and made of hemp; the ecological building is environmentally-friendly, making it green in more than one way. A much-needed factor for today’s climate, everything about the building is ecological.

A water system recycles collected rainwater to use for showers, gardening and for washing dishes, the toilet creates compost, and stone was carved from the land to make the flooring, lower tier walls, retaining walls, fences and paving, so it fits into its setting with elegance.

That was no simple job – the external walls are more than 50 inches thick and the inner walls are around 35 inches so the house is insulted all year round. Made from hempcrete, an eco alternative to concrete formed from cannabis plant hemp hurds and lime, the walls are innovative as well as sturdy.

Even the house’s furniture was specifically selected to match the house in order to maintain the calm moods of the rooms.

VICE’s lifestyle offshoot Amuse reckons the dwelling is “like a Hender Scheme shoe”. The luxury footwear brand led by Ryo Kashiwazaki makes merry with “natural” hued boots and trainers fit for any Yeezy collection.

Please can we move there, Tav Group?
