A Northern based political group, Siyasa Akida Network Nigeria has urged immediate past governor of Jigawa state, Alhaji Sule Lamido to contest 2019 presidency to salvage the country from drifting.
Spokesman of the Group, Alhaji Ali Tukur Gantsa told Reporters in Kano, Monday, that the circumstances the country found itself now required the experience of a man with political sagacity of the former Governor.
He said, “things are nothing going on the way it should be and we have increasingly witnessed things going from bad to worse in recent times”.
Gantsa said “Nigeria and indeed Nigerians have never at any point of her chequered political history been so exposed, and we earnestly called on Sule Lamido to step out and offer hope.
The Jigawa born politician who led hundreds of other like-mind that cut across Nigeria socio-ethnic, religious and political strata to NUJ press centre, explained that Lamido’s impeccable record as a performer made him a favourite choice.
Gantsa further stated that “Alhaji Sule Lamido track record as two term Governor of Jigawa state as evidently transformed the once rural state to envious height of urbanization among her peers in the federation was a pointer.”
Lamido antecedent in human development and strategic policy that railroaded Jigawa to her present status of development gave him out as a quintessential performer Nigeria required his wealth of experience.
He appealed to Nigerians to throw their support behind Sule Lamido in order to help recover her lost ground and reposition it on the part of progress.
The Group also prayed for ailing President Muhammadu Buhari, and further urged Nigerians to pray for the country.
