AAMIOSA hosts its 51st annual general meeting and general election

Abiodun Atiba Memorial Institute Old Students Association (AAMIOSA) in Oyo held its annual general meeting and conducted elections for all national offices.

On September 22, 2023, the annual general meeting of the Old Students of a 51-year-old school took place. A variety of activities were held, including a quiz competition and a health talk on cardiac arrest and cancer. The first day concluded with an “Asun Night,” where the Old Students shared their school experiences with teachers and seniors. It was a fun and lively evening, with alumni from 1977 to 2022 interacting and enjoying delicious food and drinks.

During the grand finale event on September 23, 2023, the outgoing National President, Deaconess Christiana Adenrele Adegoroye, expressed her deep gratitude towards the National executives and year sets executives for their unwavering support during her two consecutive terms of four years in piloting the affairs of AAMIOSA. She acknowledged their moral and financial contributions in the last four years and emphasized that AAMIOSA is becoming stronger every day. She appealed to the members to maintain peace and orderliness during this year’s AAMIOSA general election by ensuring that qualified individuals are elected to the appropriate positions.

Mrs. Janet Bosede Olaleye, the Principal of Abiodun Atiba Memorial Institute in Oyo, expressed her gratitude to the school’s Old Students for their contributions towards its development. Mrs. Olaleye, who is an ex Student of the school, praised the former students for their generosity, citing several projects such as the donation of 40 chairs by a former student who is the child of the late former Vice Principal, Alhaji Lateef Eyitayo Tijani. The 1982 set renovated a staff room, and the 1986 set is currently renovating the second part of the school’s main hall. Additionally, two trophies were donated.

The Old Students association held elections, and several old students were elected to serve in various national offices for the next two years.
