•Details Of The Classy Traditional Wedding In ABEOKUTA

A classy traditional wedding was held on Thursday 29th, 2018, in Abeokuta between the daughter of Abeokuta Big Boy and popular socialite, Chief Afolabi Adeshina Sodunke and wife, Lady Evangelist Abiola Olasunbo Sodunke. Olawunmi Abike Sodunke and Olalekan Oke Olaniyi got married traditionally on that day and it was held @ Providence Event Center, Abeokuta, Ogun State. Very important personalities, captains of industries, traditional chiefs and politicians all trooped enmasse to celebrate the beginning of a marital journey of the two love birds. The Holy Matrimony of the couple also took place two days after, on Saturday 31st March, 2018, at St. Micheal’s Anglican Church, Obantoko, Abeokuta at 11am.
Reception followed immediately at the Peacock Hall, of Providence Event Centre, along NNPC Mega Station, Via Obasanjo Presidential Library, M.K.O Abiola Way, Abeokuta.

TRADITIONAL WEDDING ANCHORS OPEN THE FLOOR
Traditional wedding anchors popularly referred to as Alaga Iduro and Alaga Ijoko kick-started the event about 3:30 pm with scintillating Yoruba songs that were pleasing to the ears. The Alaga Ijoko known as Lady Crystal, did the introduction of guests and parents of the couple.

BRIDE’S FAMILY MEMBERS PLAY HOST
The Sodunkes were asked to await the arrival of their visitors (Groom’s family members) in the hall. They all sat at one corner of the hall throwing banters, reeling in laughter and expressing happiness, while they awaited their visitors.

THE OKES FINALLY SHOW UP
The groom’s family members the Okes, from Oyan community in Osun State, were later ushered into the hall amid pomp and circumstance. Groom’s mum Mrs Bolanle Oke, was seen singing and dancing as she made her way into the hall.

ALL WHITE AFFAIRS
Guests of the bride and groom all wore white lace to the occasion with red and blue head gears separating both families. Bride’s family members wore red, while the groom’s family members dazzled in blue.

THE GROOM MAKES HIS WAY IN
Clad in blue Agbada with black cap to match, the handsome groom, Olalekan Oke, entered the venue alongside a couple of friends .They were made to dance, prostrate and part with cash before the groom was allowed to sit and await the arrival of his wife.

ABOUT BRIDE’S ENTRY
The Olawunmi Abike Sodunke also entered the hall amid fanfare and excitement, she was surrounded by friends who came to celebrate with her. They danced, while she got sprayed with crispy naira notes, the Alaga Ijoko introduced her to the groom’s family.

MIXED FEELINGS FOR BRIDE’S PARENT
When the bride, Olawunmi Abike Sodunke, knelt before her parents for prayers, her dad Chief Afolabi Sodunke, shed tears of Joy, while the bride’s mum, Mrs Abiola Sodunke, who was clad in Ash lace and black headgear mopped her tears with a handkerchief she was holding.

GROOM’S PARENTS PAY BRIDE’S PRICE
Mrs. Bolanle Oke, Groom’s mum and her first son, who represented the dad, gave the bride’s parent a white envelope, which contained Olawunmi’s bride price. The amount in the envelope was undisclosed, but the Alaga Ijoko mentioned that no amount of money was too big or small for the bride price.

7- YEAR- OLD DANIELLA IMPRESSES
When it was time for the bride’s letter to be read 7-year-old Daniella stepped out and gave a good account of herself. She read the letter with relative ease and she got sprayed with cash right on the spot.

OGUN SPEAKER ATTENDS
Ogun State House of Assembly speaker, Rt. Hon Suraj Adekunbi, came with his entourage and Press crew. He looked cool, calm and collected all through the duration of the event.

BALOGUN EGBA SHOWS LOVE
Alhaji Sikirulai Atobatele, the Balogun of Egbaland, who recently celebrated his 70th birthday, came in company of his beautiful wife and they stayed till the end of the event.

VIP’S STAND
Afro Juju creator Sir Shina Peters, Alhaji Moshood Akinyele, Special Adviser to the Ogun state governor, Ogun State commissioner for Intergovernmental Affairs, Gabriel Adeife, all came to felicitate with the couple and their families.

DJ COOLIO ENTERTAIN GUESTS
Popular radio Disc Jockey, Coolio, was on the wheels of steel as he dished out quality music to the joy and admiration of guests on the occasion.
