Adeleke’s Promise: Osun State To Witness Major Infrastructural Changes

by Reporter

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has unveiled his ambitious multi-billion-naira infrastructure initiative for the state to address the significant deficit it currently faces.

The funding required for this project will be drawn from savings accrued through the closure of financial leakages and existing funds held in special project accounts.

Governor Adeleke emphasized that the project is slated for completion within one year. His administration has detailed plans to construct five flyovers to alleviate traffic congestion throughout the state, specifically two in Osogbo, one in Ile-Ife, one in Owode-Ede, and one in Ikirun town.

Additionally, 45 roads spanning all 30 local government areas within the state have been designated for development in the ambitious billion infrastructure plan.

Governor Adeleke affirmed that these projects will be carried out without the need for loans from financial institutions. He stated that the infrastructure plan is entirely funded by the state, without any external financial institution loans.

The administration is committed to commencing work promptly after this launch, adhering to all procurement regulations and due processes, and prioritizing the involvement of local resources, both in terms of materials and labor, to empower the local population and foster skill development in alignment with the administration’s 5-point agenda.

With this launch, the Governor is determined to keep capital within the state and discourage capital flight. Furthermore, he issued a stern warning to individuals attempting to extort money from contractors involved in these projects.

Governor Adeleke expressed a commitment to exploring infrastructure financing opportunities as long as they do not impose additional financial burdens on the state.
