My name is Wale Asifat and I’m the Md/CEO of Brandhall promotional merchandise limited. Brandall is printing brand and media firm and of cause an event planning as well. Top on the list of our client is Adron Homes, its been about four five years now that we’ve been planning events for Adron Homes. It’s been about four five years that we’ve been consulting for Adron Homes in terms of Brand media and advertising so its been a long time coming. Also top on our client list Air France KLM, also on the list is Andella. We have quite a number of clients like Google, Facebook, we have quite a number of multinationals that we’ve been working for the last five to 7 years.
How old is Brandall?
Brandall is about 7 years now. I started my career as a broadcaster and that’s LTV 8, the I moved on to Radio Lagos, I moved on to Choice FM and then HiTV. At some point in my life I decided that I wanted to do much more than broadcasting and that’s what lead me to printing branding and advertising. So, seven years now, we’ve been running Brandall.
Has there been any challenges in the branding and advertising industry?
Obviously loads and loads of challenges. It’s interesting I studied accounting in the university. So I had to go through a lot of training and retraining in all of these sectors. For instance, when I left school, I started working with a man called Yemi Sodimu. I like to give him lots of tributes and lots of accolades to this wonderful man who actually brought out the best in me. Mr Yemi Sodimu saw me as a very young man, and he said, you have it, you can do it. So I started understudying him and one day he told me, Wale it’s your turn. You are going to handle my program today, and from there, the rest is history, as they say.
So, he brought me into the media. I learnt from him. When I left broadcasting, I went to Mushin to go and learn printing. When I learnt printing in Mushin I decided to start my own printing firm afterwards. So I did cut my teeth at different points and different level and of cause I learnt a lot on the job as well.
Can you run us through your background?
I think as a young boy, I have always wanted to do everything that I’m doing today. I remembered that from my JSS classes, I have been debating in my school. I remembered that while I was in the SS class, I was one of the best debaters in Lagos, I remembered I competed for Bournvita Brain Match. I have always known that I can talk. I’ve always known that as a talking person, I should be around the media, Theatre Art, PR and all of that. And I remembered telling my dad that I wanted to study mass communication, and he said no. you’re going to study accounting. So I satisfied him. I gave him the certificate and here I am still doing my passion.
In the next 5 years, how do you see Brandall?
Of course in the next 5 years, I see Brandall as one-stop solution house for all printing and branding events and media activities. I’m saying I’m seeing Brandall as one of the top major players in Nigeria in the next 5 years.
What can you say about Adron? How has the relationship been in the last 5 years?
Adron relationship with me has been a father/son relationship. Oba Adetola Emmanuel king, the GMD of Adron Homes happened to be my boss while he was working at SIM properties. I just worked in SIM property for about a month or thereabouts. And he was one of the very few people besides Mr. Sodimu who saw these qualities in me and said Wale, you can do this. So when he was about to start Adron Homes, he invited me over that “young man, I’m starting this, and as times goes on, he called me, “Wale let’s do this and let’s do that”.
I bring ideas, he approves it, and we carry on, so its been a father/son relationship. It’s been a fantastic relationship and of course there’s nothing you want to talk about in the real estate today, God has done it for him. God has given him the wisdom.
Adron Homes is the best real estate company that you can talk about as far as Nigeria is concerned when you talk about the marketing force, world class. Want to talk about the structures, world class. You want to talk about the idea behind Adron Homes, world class. You want to talk about the man himself, Oba Adetola Emmanuelking, world class. So Adron Homes and Brandall, we have a very solid relationship.
