The Flying Eagles of Nigeria are flying back home empty-handed from the just concluded 2019 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (U-20 AFCON) in Niger Republic.
They were beaten in the semi final by eventual champions, Mali.
While many thought the Nigeria’s team will make up with a win in third-place match against South Africa, the Flying Eagles let themselves down again; losing on penalties to Amajita.
In all of those disappointments, there is some cheering news as the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has named Ikouwem Udoh and Valentine Uzornwafor in the Best XI of the just concluded U-20 AFCON.
Senegal had the highest number of players – four, in the team of the tournament with Ibrahima Ndiaye, Diop Lopy, Hadji Drame and Hadji Badji making the CAF Best XI.
