The English Premier League defending champions, Chelsea fell to a second consecutive defeat to another lowly rated side after Warford whitewashed Antonio Conte’s men on Monday night.
Gerard Deulofeu who had his home debut after signing from Barcelona on loan inspired Watford to a first win in six Premier League matches, beating 10-man Chelsea 4-1.
The home side started brightly at Vicarage Road and were helped by Chelsea’s Tiemoue Bakayoko being sent off on the half-hour for a second yellow card.
They took the lead through Troy Deeney’s penalty just before half-time following a foul on Deulofeu.
Eden Hazard equalised on 82 minutes with a wonderful strike but, two minutes later, Watford led again through Daryl Janmaat.
Watford scored twice more as Chelsea chased a second equaliser. Deulofeu finished off a counter-attack while Roberto Pereyra claimed the fourth.
Watford stay 11th but moved six points off the bottom three. Chelsea remain in fourth, one point behind Liverpool and one ahead of Spurs.
