The Lagos chapter of the Accord Party has denied endorsing Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Lagos State for governor.
In a statement signed by O. Ikuomola, the party said it has not and would not endorse the APC governorship candidate.
”Our attention has been drawn to a false publication made by the APC Social Media Team today that the Accord Party and 44 others have endorsed its candidate Jide Sanwo-Olu.
The Accord Party Lagos and its entire candidates have not and would not endorse the APC Guber candidate.
The Accord Party State Working committee was in a meeting today at our state secretariat while this supposed arranged coalition was ongoing at the Oranmiyan Hall of the Airport Hotel, Lagos.
The political negotiators and stooges that were arranged to pose as part of the ACCORD, in the non-futuristic coalition should please be disregarded.”
According to Honourable O. Ikuomola, Chairman Accord Lagos State chapter, “It should be noted that no reasonable, party in the interest of its candidates on the INEC Provisional List; should go out to negotiate the interest of its party in less than 105 days to the general elections.
Any further mention of the ACCORD to gain more credence, would not only bring continuous disrepute to them but also raise questions as to the number of other parties said to have endorsed them.
This will make people see the malicious intent behind their need to have parties join the bandwagon before they could pull a win.
The Public should please see the ACCORD as an exemption to the said coalition”.
