The APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole was greeted with stones after violence broke out on Monday at the Ogun State All Progressives Congress, rally, held at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Abeokuta.
The Presidential rally of the APC for the re-election of President Mohammadu Buhari turned to a battle ground for the party as Allied People’s Movement, APM, supporters clashed with party faithful at the rally.
The rally had all the party faithful from across the state and also APM supporters because of their adoption of the president as their presidential candidate.
Meanwhile, all APM supporters, who are also Amosun’s supporters did not want to see anything touch of ‘Yellow’ which is Prince Dapo Abiodun’s logo, the Ogun APC governorship candidate.
It was gathered that suspected hoodlums went round the spectators’ side of the stadium, identified Abiodun’s supporters and injured them.
The victims were said to have scaled the fence to avoid being harmed by the attackers who threw dangerous objects such as stones and sticks at them.
The hoodlums also attacked supporters of the APC governorship candidate Prince Dapo Abiodun wearing yellow caps.
Many supporters of the APC were said to have sustained injuries.
