The name Ayoola Olubukunmi Fehintola-Brat, might not immediately ring a bell in an everyday setting, but she’s one of Nigeria’s pride in the diaspora, giving us butterflies in our stomachs – putting the country in the global spotlight through her commendable service to humanity.
Described as a woman of many parts – a mom, wife, registered nurse and a proud Sailor of the United States Navy Reserves, Ayoola is a bundle of talents and a gift to humanity. She hails from Ijebu-Igbo in the Ogun North District of the gateway Ayoola’s capacity for greatness has never been in doubt. She started her early education at O & A Nursery and Primary School and later proceeded to Our Lady of Apostles Secondary School (OLASS) in Ijebu-Ode. After graduating in flying colours, the brilliant young woman gained admission to study Economics in 2003 and completed her educational pursuit in 2007.
Ayoola, who is a Third Class Petty Officer in the United States Navy Reserves has continued to grow in leaps and bounds. She is famous for her community service activities where she has received accolades for her contributions to the development of her host community. Some of Ayoola’s honours include hero of the March bestowed on her last year, BLUE JACKET OF THE YEAR, NORFOLK REGION and recently received a Navy and Marine Corp Achievement Medal which is a lifetime award.
Aside being an avid volunteer, Ayoola, is also a humanitarian of note. A woman of pure and true grace, the Balogun Egbe Obaneye Obinrin Akile Ijebu 83, 84, 85, has continued to be a blessing to humanity.
A woman of high taste for fashion and panache, Ayoola’s bright personality has won her a lot of hearts from all walks of life. She is equally a doting mother who has mastered the art of multitasking – balancing her many roles without neglecting the home front. Indeed, she is a great ambassador for her country of birth changing the narratives about Nigeria’s image globally.
On Tuesday 12th July 2022, just a day after the popular Ojudu Oba was held in Ijebu; the prestigious Egbe Obaneye Obinrin Akile Ijebu crowned 4 of their members with outstanding titles. The event was held at the Grand Inn Hotel, located in Ijebu Ode. The large hall was well decorated by Olas Destiny Events. The event started with hip-hop music played by Dj Bhablow. Shortly after, the royal father of the day in person of HRM Oba Adewale Osiberu (Irunganyin Ekun II), the Elepe of Epeland in Sagamu and other dignitaries like Yeye Dr Folakemi Kuye, the Yeye Bobajoko of Erunwun Kingdom (Iya Egbe), Aare Dr Kola Oyefeso, the Aare Gbogbo Gbo of Remoland and Balogun of Ode Remo (Baba Egbe), Yusuf Oluseye, Giwa Egbe Regberegbe Okunrin Akile Ijebu Ode and many others.
Members of the Egbe like Neye Busayo, Neye Odumade Yetunde, Neye Ronke, Neye Idera, Neye Oduwole Saki, Neye Titilayo, Neye Temitope, Neye Adesanya Yemisi, Neye Adesola, Neye Oreagba Rukayat, Neye Adedayo, Obaneye OkunrinAkile Ijebu, Neye Folashade Okedun, Neye Olaleye Bukola, Neye Ibrahim Basirat, Neye Osinusi, Neye Ogunbanwo Adejoke, Neye Laway Olawunmu, Neye Adebanjo Bisigold, Neye Folake and others also arrived dressed in a sky blue dry lace with striped royal blue aso oke gele and “Ipele” to match.
After a short play by X1d Future band, Opeyemi Oshinowo then stepped on stage to lead the members to sing the Awujale anthem. After this Mr. Basiru Ali was called on to lead the prayer. After that, Aare Kola Oyefeso took to the stage to share the guidelines to becoming and staying a verified member of the Egbe Obaneye Obinrin Akile Ijebu.
Shortly after, the position of the Iyalode, Otun Iyalode and Eta Iyalode were conferred to 3 members of the Egbe, with Bamise Temitope Ayomikun(Otun Iyalode), Obabi Shekinat Olawunmi (Eta Iyalode), Okebunmi Oyindamola (Iyalode) which was led by Yeye Dr Folakemi Kuye, the Iya Egbe. After a short prayer from Oba Adewale Osiberu for the new appointees, Ayoola Fehintola-Brat was called on for her chieftaincy decoration.
Ayoola Fehintola-Brat was decorated as the Balogun Obaneye Obinrin Akile Ijebu by the newly appointed Iyalode Egbe. After this, Balogun Ayoola Fehintola-Brat then changed her outfit into a purple striped aso oke regalia as she again rode to the event hall on a horse. She was hailed by the members of the Egbe as the Balogun Egbe Obaneye Obinrin Akile Ijebu. The floor was set open by X1d Future Band.
