Elder Ayo Ogunde is the Baba Oba of Ososa. His beautiful wife is the Yeye Okutoyese of Ososa. Both sent a one-page message to Alaiyeluwa Oba (Dr.) Adetoye Alatishe, the Gbeganda of Ososa to mark his 10th Year Coronation Anniversary. See below their message:

On behalf of myself, Yeye Olutoyese and family we congratulate HRH Oba Dr. Adetoyese Mojeed Alatishe the Gbegande of Ososa on the 10th anniversary of the ascension to the throne of your forefathers.

These 10 years have been a blessing to all sons and daughters of Ososa both at home and abroad. May God continue to bless you abundantly.

Your achievements within this short period are enviable and are landmarks in every way which includes amongst others: (1.) Enabling and supervising the building of a befitting Oba’s palace for Ososa after over 55 years that the last one collapsed, and yet on the same spot!

(2.) Building the doctor’s and nurses quarters as well as a surgical theater which has saved many Ososa lives. (3.) Encouraging the development of Ososa with assistance in the completion of Ogunde Living History Museum and Yeye Oba Pelade’s Event Hall and many others. (4.) Facilitating many medical expeditions (eye tests, blood pressure tests, prostate screening etc) to Ososa to assist the poor and the elderly.

(5.) Encouraging the formation of an Association of Ososa Descendants in the UK and supervising their developmental projects in Ososa. (6.) Building a customary court in Ososa to help in the adjudication of simple legal matters. A first in the history of Ososa. (7.) Helping the town to get a 500kva transformer from the governor of Ogun State. Hardly will Ososa be in darkness again!

Your list of achievements goes on and on …

Kabiyesi, igba odun, odun kan ni o. May God’s grace, peace and love continue to be with you. May your reign continue to be peaceful and full of Joy. Congratulations, ade a tubo pe I’ori, bata a si pe I’ese o.
