The ancient town of Ibogun in Ogun State came alive when popular philanthropist, Barrister Oketola Olorunwo, in her usual gesture held her annual Total Women Empowerment Foundation gift distribution to Widows, and the elderly on Sunday, 26th December 2021 at Baba Obasanjo’s compound.
The event was well attended by prominent royal fathers and socialites who share the same vision with the organiser.
Former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo in his opening remarks commended the kind-heartedness of the initiator and challenged many to follow the path of giving to Widows and old people.
The convener, Barrister Oketola stated that the foundation has been existing and giving out to the needy for over 15 years and it’s been a success story all the way, as each year goes by.
She added that she inherited the act of giving from her late father, Primate Omolaja Olorunwo who was known as a selfless giver in his days. She also said she dedicated the 2021 empowerment event to her late father,for his immeasurable kindness and love to the needy and less privileged.
Gifts shared at the event include Ankara fabrics for old age, Sanitary pads, spaghetti, semovita, sugar, salt, rice, garri, milk and many more.
The beneficiaries who went home smiling for the good gesture prayed fervently that God will continue to bless her for the kind gesture.
