Mrs. Yinka Ogunde is one successful female entrepreneur in the Education sector with boundless energy and a lot of creativity. She is the CEO of Edumark, an Education company that enhances brands with different services in the Education sector. She is also the pioneer of Total School Support Seminar Exhibition (TOSSE).

She played host to about 5,000 participants last week in Lagos at Tosse 2018, which is the biggest education show in Africa. She celebrated 10 years of Driving Innovation in Education at a 2-day world class event, which ran from 7th to 8th June 2018 at 10 Degrees Event Centre, Billingsway, Oregun, Lagos.

She has been hosting Tosse for 10 years and impacting the education sector for close to 2 decades. The 10th edition started with her inspiring welcome address. As Edumark’s CEO, she talked about how she started Tosse 10 years ago, in a room in Sheraton Hotel to take first step towards a change in the education sector and  helping schools find credible suppliers of innovative educational solutions. She says it reminded her of the power of ideas, pursuit, perseverance, consistency in doing better, what one did yesterday. The Ambassador of Finland to Nigeria, Ms. Pingo Suomela-Chowdhury spoke extensively on Inclusive Education.

She encouraged government and school owners to treat their academic staff and teachers like they would treat a medical doctor who can save their lives. She said in Finland, a teacher earns as much as a medical doctor and are treated with so much honour and respect as it is not a neglected profession but an enviable one.

There were many speakers. Also, the Commissioners of Education in Ogun and in Nasarawa spoke on the challenges of education in Nigeria, and the lack of security was the focus. According to them, a community that is not secured is not settled and the lack of peaceful co-existence in a society would result to migration from one place to another. So, the pending issues of security has a lot of effect on education. Seminars were held on Maximising differentiation for multiple intelligence, working successfully with parents, staff and students through rough waters, Running with vision, wealth building for Edupreneurs, Basic Management class for school heads. School heads, teachers and edupreneurs attended all the seminars  massively and over a hundred exhibitors came for the exhibition to advertise their brands.
