Black Panther To Become First Film To Be Shown In Saudi Arabia In 35 Years

by Igbokwe John

April 18, Saudi Arabia will join the rest of the world to watch Black Panther, a new theatre in Riyadh. This will be the first in 35 years.

Until 1979, Saudi Arabia had closed down theatres due to their extreme interpretation of the Islam religion.

This change is also significant. People will watch women drive cars. Women are originally seen as second-class citizens in the country. The Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has said that he has plans of making the country be at par with developed countries.

Black Panther has also become the 10th highest-grossing film of all time.
