Who is really Bobrisky: a Gay, Bisexual or he’s just acting it? The excerpts below will give you all the answers.
How do you want me to describe you, ‘he or she?
Anyone sir. Any is fine sir.
Who do you see yourself to be; a man or a woman?
Presently, as at now, a woman!
Are there other occasions you are not a woman?
Yes!.
Are you bisexual?
No!
So what are you; homosexual?
I’m sorry, that part is personal!
I just saw pictures that popped up today where you were announcing your boyfriend, the love of your life and I saw the man you tagged and I went to check the man up. A very fine man.
He’s my friend, sir.
Let’s start with your background. Can you tell us about yourself?
My name is Idris. My Dad married 3 wives. My mom was the last wife. Growing up: my Dad and my mom had issues. I think the issue was that my mom went to hajj and he didn’t inform him (my dad). So when she came back, my Dad changed all the padlocks in the house. She couldn’t have access to come in. After the two families intervention, she moved to her personal house because my Dad could not accept her apology. So, during that period my mom said she won’t allow me to stay with my Dad because I was the last child of my mom. From my mom’s side, we are 3, my elder sister, my elder brother and myself. My elder sister lives in Chicago in the US. She is a Nurse. While my elder brother is a Banker. I was 12 years old when I moved with my mom. I was always assisting her. Then, I was really exposed to female things because they would dress and ask me how do I look. Wash my underwear. Do this for me, so I was more into women things. So she really exposed me to a lot of female things… So, in 2018, my mom died; she died in Haji. Then I got my admission into the University of Lagos. I finished at the University of Lagos. I read Accounting and ever since then, I said I don’t want to work with any company. I want to have my own business; I want to have a cosmetic brand.
What secondary school did you attend?
I attended King’s College but before King’s College, I went to Okota High school.
What was your experience in growing up in that school?
It was ok. I was enjoying the moment.
So then, when I was in school (Unilag), I had this in mind that I needed to do something to get extra money and to make money because then in school you hear people say it’s hard to get work and be employed and it’s very hard to get work in Nigeria. So then, I was doing something on the other hand; I was selling female clothes. I was selling makeup brands. I was selling different things in school then. So after school, I now went into cosmetic. I went deeply into selling body creams, makeup stuff and things for women, generally.
You have been described as a famous Nigerian transgender, is that right?
Not transgender but Crossdresser!
What do you mean by Crossdresser?
All I do in my life is pure hustling. Like I said earlier, I finished from the University of Lagos and trust me, getting employment was so difficult and looking at my background, I needed to sustain my self because as at that time, even my mom was no more, so I just thought one day that in Nigeria when you do crazy things you will ‘blow’. When others are going right you are going left, people will get to know you. The Mr good, Mr nice does not really count when you live in Nigeria. So I summoned the courage to start selling things. So when I sell them, at some point from my advert, I started wearing them to see how much more I can do. So just imagine when I wear a clothe and it fits me more than some women out there, a lot of women would buy because they would feel that, for this outfit to fit a guy like this I would purchase it. For this makeup to look this beautiful on a guy, like this, I would purchase it, so at some point, I started wearing what I do. Wearing makeups, wearing, hairs, looking this way doesn’t make me a gay!
So you have been doing that to advertise some of your products?
Yes sir!
Everything I do is purely business
Where did you get this indigenous idea?
The moment you start making one, two nairas and you are thinking of how to add more to become a huge amount of money, a different idea would keep coming.
Do you have any mentor?
No, I don’t have any.
The only artiste or person I’ll always love is Micheal Jackson. That is the only person I’ve always wanted to be like. He’s the only one that I think I could be like.
So you wanted to be like Micheal Jackson?
Yes, I wanted to be famous like him. I wanted to make money.
So this crossdress things is about business?
Yes sir. Strictly making money and when it comes to IG, it purely entertainment.
On your international passport, you have male as your gender?
Yes sir.
Do you dress like this when you are travelling?
Yes, because people know me as Bobrisky. I’m not trying to impersonate anybody, so make it known that this is Bobrisky and when I can, decide also at time to make it known to people this Eedris.
So growing up, have you ever dated a woman?
Yes.
Do you also enjoy being chased by men?
No! This is me when it comes to my business and when you come to me that you like me and I will make you understand without being rude that I’m a business person.
Are you saying it was all lies when it was reported a guy bought you a car, house?
That was all lies. Everything I own today I bought them with my money. My house, my car.
The last time I sat for an interview is over 4 years now, probably when I buy a car and I upload, they think a man, somewhere buys the car for me or it’s a man that is sponsoring everything I do.
How many cars do you have?
I have 3 cars.
Have you ever been tempted to try gay?
There was a time I was thinking of being a bi (bisexual). I want to play both ways. But I haven’t made up my mind yet. The truth is that I still do girls. Some girls would come to my DM and say to me that they know this is pure business, forget it, let’s see. But people must not know everything. It’s good to keep the suspense. Let them keep guessing; is Bobrisky this, is he that, so most time, I just put out what they want to hear. But the truth is that I actually have my personal life.
I’m actually naughty and wild.
Is that part of the business?
No, that’s my personal life.
So you have a lot of girls?
Definitely.
Do you have a lady you are dating and you are madly in love with?
No. But I have flings.
Do you plan to settle with any of them?
Not now. I’m not planning for that now. I just want to enjoy the moment. I am not thinking about that now.
So if you impregnate a lady today, would you hide the child so that alarm won’t blow?
Yes! Because there’s time for everything. When I started all these Bobrisky things, my intention was not to enjoy it. My intention was to sell out my business, sell out my brand, sell myself out there but at some points, I began to enjoy it, love the moment and appreciate the moment. So if by chance somebody gets pregnant we have to have an agreement, because what is selling me right now is Bobrisky. The moment one woman comes from somewhere now, people would say Oh! Bobrisky has been using our brains! Oh, Bobrisky has been deceiving us.
Have you ever performed Cosmetic surgery on yourself because your friend Tonto Dikeh accepted she did one?
Please can we drop that side. Tonto accepted she did cosmetic, that’s her. There is a lot of things I have to keep to myself until I feel I have to tell people.
What is between you and Tonto?
Tonto is my mother. The reason why I love Tonto is that people said a lot of things about her, that you have a son and you are encouraging Bobrisky. Why I will always like her is that she was there when there was nobody. Before I became so big, Tonto has been the one sending me money that, my baby take this 100k, my baby take 150k for yourself. She is someone that can give you more if she has. She has got an amazing heart. We were friends for many years and now I realise she’s no more a friend but a mother because she is always there to support me and fight for me.
Some people are saying that you have kissed Tonto Dikeh before?
Yes. I have when she was marking her birthday.
Have you been to Mecca?
No
Do you plan to go?
Yes.
Do you plan to go as a man?
Maybe because it’s a religious country.
Have you ever travelled out of Nigeria without your makeup?
Ever since I became Bobrisky and famous, this is the way I travel. Because have made a lot of money through that.
Did you also do voice training because it sounds like a woman?
No, this has always been my voice.
What does it cost to be a Bobrisky?
Your skin has to be fresh. There are some drugs you take that will make your body feel like a woman.
Have ever been close to elderly women because we hear that you are being sponsored by many of them?
The only reason why I have been close to them is that, I recommend cream and that they can use for their skin. All they want from me is what they can use to look pretty.
How religious are you?
I’m very close to God. People don’t believe people like us could be so close to God.
