BREAKING: LASEMA CONQUERS FIRE OUTBREAK AT OLALEYE MARKET, SHOMOLU (PHOTOS)

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA was once again at its feet as it rescued the Olaleye market in Shomolu Area of Lagos at the early hours of Saturday, May 30, 2020.

The Agency received a distress call via the control room at 2:56a m regarding a fire outbreak at the Olaleye market, Somolu and immediately proceeded to the incident scene.

We can confirm that the fire was put out by a combined effort of LASEMA Fire, Lagos Fire & Federal Fire at about 4:30 am.

The Agency has commenced Enumeration and confirmed that about 227 lockup shops were affected with an unknown number of vehicles.

Upon arrival at the scene, it was discovered that the Olaleye Market located at Shomolu was completely engulfed in flames.

The Lagos State Fire Service, LASEMA fire team and the Federal fire service have worked to battle the inferno and prevent it from spreading to nearby residential buildings.

No life was lost and no injuries sustained, but properties and goods worth several billions of naira have been razed by the inferno
