Pastor of the popular Household of God and a two-time presidential aspirant of FRESH party, Rev. Chris Okotie has officially declared his intention to run for the presidency in the forthcoming elections. He made this known during a church service at his Oregun church on Sunday, July 15, 2018.
The articulate and eloquent pastor, however, intends to run as a consensus candidate through the unification of Nigeria’s two leading parties; the All Progressive Congress, APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
In an open letter made available to the press, Pastor Chris Okotie has advised the chairman of both parties not to field any candidate for the office of the presidency, as he avails himself as a sole candidate for the two parties.
He wrote;
Nigeria is in dire need of restructuring; Our federalism is simply terminological inexactitude.
It is a realistic piece of fakery. The constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is obsolete, retrogressive and subversive to the Nigerian cause. It can no longer subsist as a legal protocol that guarantees the peaceful co-existence of autonomous ethnicities. No extant or subsisting government can right these aberrations, for obvious reasons of parochial party considerations and entrenched partisan rivalries within the polity.
He, therefore, advised the parties to embrace him as a consensus candidate for the role of the presidency to save the country from the shackles of retrogression.
