The Super Eagles of Nigeria on Wednesday became the first team to qualify for the round of 16 in the ongoing 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
Nigeria defeated the highly rated Syli Nationale of Guinea 1-0 with a 73rd-minute header by defender Kenneth Omeruo.
The Super Eagles now seat atop group B with six points and two goals advantage while Guinea’s chance of making the last 16 depends on the result of their last game.
Madagascar and Burundi will slug it out in the second group game later in the day.
