Did you ever know that late human rights activist, Dr. Beko Ransome Kuti had a brilliant son who was in the Army? Yes. He had one. And he was a very intelligent officer. This is the story of Brigadier General Enitan Ransome Kuti, who recently retired from the Nigerian Army holding the prestigious rank of a Brigadier General.

Enitan is an alumnus of the Nigerian Military School (NMS), Zaria and the Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA), Kaduna where he had his formal education before receiving his commission into the Nigerian Army. There he rose through the ranks up to becoming a Brigadier General bagging a number of medals such as Distinguished Service Star, Meritorious Service Star, Force Service Star, Pass Staff Course (Dagger), Command Medal, Fellow Defence College, United Nations Mission in Liberia Medal, General Operation Medal, Silver Jubilee Medal, Golden Jubilee Medal and Centenary Medal.

In 2015, he served as the Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force, the position he held before he finally bowed out of active service. There he encountered the most trying moment of his career in the military. But  as a true son of the Ransome-Kuti, he was able to prevail over them, coming out victorious at last.

On Sunday 23rd July, 2023, Brigadier General Ransome-Kuti celebrated his retirement in the military service and the 50th birthday of his loving wife, Adeola. So, it was double celebration for the family and they had it big all the way. It was indeed the day that the lord has made and they really rejoiced and were glad in it.

Earlier in the day, they had a thanksgiving service in the presence of God at the St. Stephens’ Protestant Church located inside the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre, Oshodi, Lagos. The loving couple showed appreciation to God by dancing and giving testimonies of how God had been so faithful to them, most especially in the time of trials and tribulation.
