One of Nigerian icons of the Apala music genre,Wahidi Ayinla Yusufu,better known and called AYINLA OMOWURA,was killed during a brawl over a motorcycle bought by him for his Band Manager,Fatai Baiyewu,in a bar in Abeokuta,Ogun State of Nigeria,on 6th May,1980.He was aged 47.
In comemmoration of the 40th anniversary of the death of the Apala music maestro,a book titled, AYINLA OMOWURA…LIFE AND TIMES OF AN APALA LEGEND”, authored by the well-known journalist, columnist and lawyer, Dr.Festus Adedayo,was unveiled on Wednesday,6th May,this year.
In appreciation of his literary work,the author was today invited as a special guest on the highly popular and influential news and issues analysis programme,’JE NWI T’EMI’,of Space 90.1FM,Ibadan,Oyo State of Nigeria.
