Rita Nzelu is a Nigerian actress, model and TV personality who was born in Enugu state.
She began acting sometime in 1990 and was a very popular actress, as she featured in many popular movies with other popular actors like Osita Iheme, Nkem Owoh, Gloria Anozie, Ngozi Ezeonu and many others.
She rose to fame, when she featured in the movie titled “Living in bondage”. This brought her a lot of fame, and she has since gone on to feature in other popular movies.
Rita Nzelu completed her primary and secondary school education in her hometown and obtained her first school leaving certificate and west African senior secondary certificate.
She then proceeded to the University of Nsukka in Enugu state, where she got a degree.
Rita Nzelu started her acting career, sometime in 1990 and made her acting debut in the movie “Living in bondage” which got her popularity and fame in the country.
She is known for her energetic acting and being able to adapt to any role that she is given by the movie directors and producers.
An award winning actress, Rita has featured in over a hundred (100) movies including, “The pretty serpent”, “Ukwa” etc.
She has won the following awards:
Best actress of the year at the City people entertainment awards,
Most promising actress in Nigeria at the Africa movie academy awards,
Best actress in a supporting role at the African Magic viewer’s choice awards, and
Best comedy actress in Nigeria at the Africa movie academy awards in popular movie “Ukwa”.
Some of Rita Nzelu movies are: Baby Mama, Unforgiven, Ukwa, Pretty serpent, Long John, Living in bondage etc.
Rita Nzelu allegedly quit acting after she got married.
