Egbe Gbobaniyi (Obinrin) Olanrewaju Akile Ijebu is one of the leading regberegbe groups in Ijebu land. A few days back, the age-grade group held its traditional recognition and royal blessing at Awujale’s Palace. It was the Awujale, Oba Sikiru Adetona who blessed these beautiful women, led by Iyalode Egbe, Niyi Hon. Olajumoke Omorinola Dairo.

Who is Hon. (Mrs) Olajumoke Dairo? We can tell you about her. She was born into the illustrious Ashiru Family of Oke Oyinbo Saka, Ijebu Ode. Her father late Pa. Simeon Adeyemi Ashiru was a distinguished Ijebu Stateman. Her mother late Mrs F.W. Ashiru hailed from Imuku in Ijebu North East Local Government.

As an Educationist, Businesswoman and politician, she is also Yeye-Oge of Ojota Kingdom, Lagos, Iyaloja of Aroworamimo market, Ojota, Lagos and the Iyalode of Egbe Gbobaniyi (Obinrin) Olanrewaju of Ijebuland.

She attended Baptist Day School, Ereko, Ijebu Ode and gained admission into Our Lady of Apostles Secondary School, Ijebu Ode. She worked briefly with Ogun State College of Education, Igbeba road, Ijebu-Ode as a Clerical Officer.

She gained admission into the same College of Education now Tai Solarin Universsity, Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode, where she obtained her National Certificate of Education (NCE) specializing in French/CRS. She thereafter proceeded to Centre International de Recherche et d’etude de langues, village du Benin, Lome, where she obtained Certificate in French.

To sharpen her skills as an educationist in Early Childhood Education, she attended Montessori Education course organized by London Montessori Co-operation in Nigeria.

Before the completion of the Montessori Education course in 1987, she took up an appointment as Head Teacher of Remo Kindergarten Nursery and Primary School, Sagamu, Ogun State. She also worked at Lantana Private School, Gbagada, Lagos as the French teacher and also Headteacher of the nursery section.

Thirsty for experience in the public sector and bigger challenges, she moved to the famous Baptist Academy, Obanikoro, Lagos where she worked as a French teacher from 1991 – 1996. Afterwards, she resigned from Lagos State Teaching Service Commission in 1996, to set up the fashion/textile business and face politics fully.

Hon. (Mrs) Olajumoke Dairo joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in 1989 at Somolu Local Government Area, Lagos. She has always been part of the progressive group and has held several positions and offices detailed below in the different political group which later transformed into All Progressive Congress (APC) today.

Hon. (Mrs) Olajumoke Dairo was married to late Sup. Deacon Obafemi Kolawole Dairo with successful children. She is friendly, intelligent, hardworking and sociable, a very responsible wife and a fantastic mother, above all, she is God-fearing and devoted Christian. Indeed her continued service to God and humanity remains ultimate in her mind and in every of her pursuit.
