What has become a norm for many celebrities these days is to celebrate themselves with lovely photoshoots for their birthdays,weddings,style shoot and all. Not just ordinary photo sessions but mostly they get stylists for both their hair, dress and looks all together and spend several hours in front of cameras. One popular photographer who has been the toast of many celebrities who handles their photoshoot is TY Bello.

 

She is currently the biggest and hottest celebrity photographer who handle mostly birthday shoots and ThisDay magazine front cover. She has handled many jobs such as being the official photographer for Former president Goodluck Jonathan,many big profile jobs with ThisDay Style magazine which includes, the photoshoot of Former president, Olusegun Obasanjo,The 40s club, tara durotoye, Busola odusanya,Funke Bucknor, Funke Akindele and many other photo shoots.

 

She is today one of the most inspiring role models of Africa, her story from an average girl to a successful singer and then as a professional photographer is filled with determination and an undying passion for social change. Toying passion for photography developed over the years and she began exploring her career as a photographer. She also touched upon the world of Nigerian music and collaborated with many acclaimed singers.

 

TY Bello is more than just an artist,she is a vital component of social change in Nigeria. Her contribution don’t stay indoors in the world of photograph and music solos.Her next creative outlet was through photography. It was her passion for photography and being the official photographer for ThisDay Style Magazine which took her to the highest corridors of power in Nigeria. She was appointed as an official photographer to the ex-president Goodluck Jonathan.

 

Through her photographs, she explored the highways and byways of her country’s vast social fabric. She has also photographed celebrities, including British rapper Tinie Tempah. She was instrumental in discovering the rare beauty, Olajumoke Orisaguna who later became a successful Nigerian Model.

 

Born on 14 January 1978, the singer, songwriter, photographer was a member of the defunct gospel band Kush. She is also a member of the Nigerian photography collective, Depth of Field. She is best known for her singles “Greenland”, “Ekundayo”, “This Man”, “Freedom” and “Funmise”.Born in Ogun State,she attained a degree in economics from the University of Lagos. She briefly practiced journalism and eventually ventured into photography.

 

TY Bello emerged onto Nigeria’s musical landscape as a member of the defunct group Kush, an acronym for Kinetically Ushering Salvation into Hearts and Homes. Other members of the group included Lara George, Dapo Torimiro and rapper Emem Ema. Kush gained popularity in the early 2000s with the single “Let’s Live Together”; the group managed to release an album before disbanding. She organizes an annual photography exhibition to raise funds for orphans in Nigeria. She is also the director of Link-a-child, an NGO dedicated to proliferating information on orphanages in Nigeria and seeking sponsorship on their behalf. In July 2011, TY Bello was honored by the non-profit Communication For Change organization in a five-part documentary film series titled RedHot.

 

Before she become one of Nigeria’s leading photographers, she was known mainly as a singer.

 

The University of Lagos graduate was admitted to study Accounting but later switched to Economics. After completing her studies, she changed track and worked as a journalist for a while. She has a certificate in beauty therapy and cosmetology from Opral benson’s Beauty Institute.She was trained by renowned photographer Don Barber, with whom she went to train after spending the first four months of her NYSC year at fototech.

 

Toyin Sokefun Bello is married to her husband of 12 years, Kashetu Bello,they both have a set of twin boys Christian and Christopher which Toyin delivered in 2014. She currently works with thisday fashion magazine and has done several iconic magazine cover and editorials.
