Weddings in the year 2020 brought so many fun as many big weddings lit up the atmosphere in January and February before the Lockdown started. After the lockdown, some brides opted for only the civil wedding and either postponed or ruled out the Traditional or reception ceremonies. First on this list is the wedding of President Buhari’s daughter Hanan. The bride got married in a private presidential wedding shortly after the lockdown was lifted. Thursday and Friday, 3rd and 4th of September will not be forgotten in a hurry in the minds of many who attended the showstopping wedding of President Buhari’s daughter,Hanan to Northern billionaire and Ex Milad, Buba Marwa’s step son, Mohammed Turad Sha’aban.
The high class traditional engagement known as Kamu in Hausa and classy reception witnessed who is who from the political class, the academia, the business class as well as associates of the President.The Emir of Zazzau, Late Alhaji Idris also played a huge role at the wedding. Many would have thought the wedding of the President’s daughter should attract all the paraphernalia of high society but the wedding which was although classy in all ramifications was devoid of noise and everything was played down in a very moderate way.
This was due to current pandemic situation in the country where all health guidelines must be followed to avoid the spread of COVID 19. We learnt the president had already made his intentions known that he wants the wedding private due to the happenings in the country, no wonder, all the events were held around Aso Rock to maximize security and manage the crowd. Recall that the news of Hanan Buhari to Mohammed Turad emerged on social media few weeks before the wedding. We gathered the news was kept away from the media because of what the country is presently going through.
Another northern wedding which shook the north was the Indimi’s wedding. Borno Billionaire’s daughter Adama Indimi tied the knot with the love of her life. She got married to billionaire Kogi Prince, Malik Ado-Ibrahim.
It was indeed a period of celebration for two wealthy and popular families from the Northern part of Nigeria following the joining of their son and daughter as husband and wife. The bride Adama Indimi is the daughter of billionaire business mogul, Mohammed Indimi , while her husband is billionaire Kogi Prince, Malik Ado-Ibrahim, who is the founder of Bicernery and owner of F1 team Arrows. Indimi’s hubby is also the heir to the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland. The traditional marriage rites of the lovers started on Friday, August 7, while the Nikkah ceremony took place on Saturday, August 8.
The ceremony which was a fusion of the rich Kanuri, Chadian and Ebira cultures will have you smiling as you look through. The 2-day celebration in Maiduguri was everything and more, from her outfits, decor to the different events, there was something to love.
Tagged The most expensive wedding of 2020, celebrity jeweller, Malivelihood shut down Abuja for his wedding to Senator Smart Adeyemi’s daughter, Deola. It was a wedding where diamonds was the order of the day. He was said to have bought a N56m naira worth diamond ring, the brides wedding dress has over 500 pieces of diamonds on it. He gave out expensive Hublot wristwatches as souvenirs, and gave out a car to one of the wedding’s lucky attendees as gift and so much more.
The Nations capital city, Abuja was shut down with this wedding two weeks back precisely 4th and 5th of December when the young billionaire and celebrity jeweler, Micheal Olusola Awujoola popularly known as Malivelihood shut down the city for his classy wedding to Deola Smart, the pretty daughter of Senator Smart Adeyemi.. Many of those who got invited and were able to have access to the venue have had only one thing to say, that this is ‘’the society wedding of the decade’. They were even insinuating that there has been no wedding even in recent times that could match this particular one in terms of it’s sheer extravagance & opulence. An estimated sum of about over 200million naira must have been spent. That’s not even up to the money coming in from the thriving luxury jewelry company owned by the groom and also from the sprawling businesses of the bride’s father. The wedding engagement took place on Friday, 4th at the BMO event centre, Wuse, Abuja. The colour code for the engagement was wine and gold for the bride’s family and cream and gold for the grooms family. The white wedding took place on Saturday, December 5 at the National Ecumenical Center in Abuja while the classy reception party took place at the International Conference Centre. The wedding had in attendance Vice President, Prof Yemi Osibajo, his wife, Dolapo Osinbajo, the senate president and many other top dignitaries. The elites were positioned on the high table designed by one of the biggest event planners who provided white chair covers for weddings.
It was also loud in Lagos when Nollywood actor and Instagram comedian, Williams Uchemba tied the knot with his fiancé, Brunella Oscar. The colourful ceremony started with the traditional wedding at the brides place in Anambra while the white wedding held at the Dominion City Church headquarters, Lekki Phase 1 in Lagos. The classy reception took place at the prestigious Monarch Event Centre in Lekki. It was a very colourful wedding which had most showbiz stars in attendance. Also on the list is Ivy and Nero’s wedding. It was also grand having been planned by srcevents. Their hashtag #partwiththeominis was on point.
Celebrity designer, Niniola is also among the list. She sits atop house of Nini brand. She got married to Tolu Alebiosu in a colourful ceremony in Lagos. The hashtag for her wedding was #thatntlove.
Nkechi Eze, the pretty sister of Bella Naija founder, Uche Pedro, also got married in a colourful civil wedding ceremony to Lagos APC Chairman, Alhaji Tunde Balogun’s son, Kunle. It was a civil wedding which took many by surprise except for those who are very close to the couple. Kunle is one of the sons of Alhaji Balogun who is a bit on the reserved side. The bride, Nkechi is quite popular because of her prominence on social media and being affiliated to the Bella Naija Brand. It was a classy civil wedding which was attended by both families and close friends of the couple. The love birds got married on Saturday 10th October 2020. The bride stunned in a lovely trouser bridal outfit by Wana Sambo Bridals. Her make up was handled by Bimpe Onakoya.
