Charting the point of no return

After really following up on events and activities of 2023 elections, it’s now firmly clear that Nigeria is truly ready for restructuring. Let’s look back as we affirm how we got to this stage of discrimination and toxic tribalism. Our culture that is so innumerable has only been able to preserve without necessarily respecting the variety. For example, some of us can’t speak Yoruba since it was totally frowned upon in the home front. However, the hypocrisy behind this mindset is that the head of the household who forbids vernacular has decorated himself over the years with chieftaincy titles. Whilst the offsprings are wondering he might eventually take in another wife as the culture permits.

So what you get essentially from that child is resentment of his heritage and even tradition. I do have a couple of friends who in their thirties had to voluntarily learn Yoruba and even their lifestyles. Living abroad has made me learn that sneering and derogatory comments about other cultures and races are punitive, and any abusiveness towards other traditions also proves much limitations where universality is concerned. Therefore the training for children is for them to be all-inclusive in reasoning, as the world in its entirety for interconnectivity needs to be all-encompassing. This to some extent peeks through Africa howbeit not effectively.

Growing up, one has had to live with this unnecessary snobbery of other cultures within the same Country. Effective Parentage could have quelled what we are facing today whereby tribalism could have been reduced by Parentage, education and religion. Unfortunately, the depth of the discrepancies within tribes was never carefully addressed as a Nation. Today it has translated to the Achilles heel within Nigeria making growth sluggish for most parts. The devastation of hatred propagating itself continually in politicking becomes horrendous.

Today we have had to endure a President so limited in his outlook that he without apology picks political appointments from his own side of the Country only. This mediocrity is motivated from his excuse that he can only trust his own people. Thus immediately cascading to the fact , that division remains inevitable. After sixty years of independence we have not developed the required synergy to influence the unison for development, then its really time to make sensible fragmentation to enable peaceful and equitable establishment. Indeed some intermarriage have happened, the trauma that goes with these entanglements are mostly disastrous. For me, there is a major need to develop stringent laws that make derogatory statements and avoidance of other cultures and traditions totally illegal. As we ensure that respect and regard of culture and tradition are completely enhanced, projected in wholesomeness as well as interactively only then can we be ready to build and become one. What we have so far has widened the gap , ensured discrimination and hate and will only annihilate all tribes.

Faced with two options of restructuring and dividing or infusing laws to affirm peaceful co-existence, there is urgency to intervene before the Nation fails completely. Recent happenings are tending towards catastrophe as we see a rude takeover of the roughheads. The salient factor is to engage the intellectual hegemony and progressives to return to the strategic table and draw up cultural, traditional and intellectual framework as we reevaluate the components for a workable Nigeria. We must stop the hate, that makes people kill for tribal sentiments. We are all guilty and can never forge ahead with a derogatory, mediocre mindset. Be it inferiority or superiority complex, it all translates to a draconian, retrograde, and crippling national sentiment. Nigeria is clamouring for greatness, we the people must quit slamming down the brakes on progress. Let’s remain prayerful and hopefully, we will accomplish the Nigerian potential

Let’s pray
Father GOD it’s my prayer that Nigeria in the real sense of the word shall be one, this has been the cry of our LORD JESUS, I agree that this will be done in the Matchless Name of our Lord JESUS.
Father restore all anomalies in JESUS’ Mighty, Matchless Name.
