Ikeja, the capital city of Lagos State came alive on the evening of Sunday 25th September, 2022. It was a total celebration for female entrepreneurs in Nigeria as many of them converged for the City People Female Achievers’ Awards held at Etal Hotel and Hall, located along Kudirat Abiola Road, Oregun Ikeja.
The awards ceremony which has ben on for years was held to identify and celebrate female trailblazers who have become a formidable force in the various business endeavours. The 2 previous editions of the awards ceremony were top notch. They remain evergreen in the minds of many Nigerians and participants at the ceremony.
This year’s edition of the highly coveted awards did not fall short of expectation, as it was graced by top personalities and great business minds, many of whom are females. They stormed the venue with family, friends and associates to felicitate and rejoice with them. It was a highly glamorous and very eventful ceremony that left a lot of pleasant memories for both the host and awardees with their respective guests. Below are the details of how the ceremony unfolded:
ON THE RED CARPET
Hours before the commencement of the awards ceremony, the red carpet had been set and everything was already put in place right before the arrival of guests.
Journalists from quite a number of media houses were also around to participate in receiving the awardees and their invitees on the red carpet. The arrival and reception of guests was so warmly done, giving an insight into what guests would be enjoying for the day. There were photo sessions at the point of arrival. This allowed the awardees and their invitees to feel more at home with the organizers as they were able to showcase their fashion sense through their dress pattern and outlook. The red carpet was the first form of reception which the guests enjoyed a lot at the awards. It was marked with a display of total fashion as the awardees and their guests all looked elegant and radiant in their respective outfits. They commanded great attention courtesy of their quite remarkable style statements.
HOW THE AWARD CEREMONY WENT
Expectedly, the much anticipated ceremony didn’t fall short of expectation. It was a glamorous event, a class of its own. From the very beginning of the awards ceremony to its tail end, it was filled with moments of remarkable experience. The programme synopsis was run by the duo of Kodjo Quaye known as bishop belly and Sola Asekun Amusu aka MC_LEOS. The two MCs combined so well that they were able anchor the event by adding lots of vibes to the event. When it was time for the award presentations, each of the awardees were eagerly waiting to lay their hands on the prestigious award plaques which many people would love to have in their possession. The awardees were however called for the award presentation in batches. As each of them is being called, the MCs took time to introduce them properly to the audience as they read out the profiles and what they have done and are still doing to merit the City People Female Achievers’ Awards. Then the award recipient approached the podium to receive their plagues while they made remarks on how they feel now that they have added to their feather of honours. Most of the awardees did not come alone; they came in company of their family members, friends and well wishers, many of who joined them on stage to celebrate with them. Every seat in the hall was occupied.

OLUOMO MATO SPICED UP THE EVENT
The official music band at the ceremony was the Oluomo Mato band. They played so well that they lit up the atmosphere by making guests catch in the groove of the day. The band played at various interludes and that to a great extent sustained the tempo of the event as there was never a dull moment throughout the ceremony. Many of the awardees even stayed back to dance and enjoy the groove of the day as the Oluomo Mato fueled the event with good music.

FOOD VENDORS
Very important and worthy of note was the refreshment part of the event which was simply impressive. Mrs. Adetokun Monisola of the wave making, Monissa Party concept catered for the delicious meals served while Odutuyo Oluwaseun known as Owambe Spicey made the delicious grills with chicken, turkey and yam, plantain. All these were served to guests on a satisfactory note. Tokunbo Bodunrin of Taste La Toks was another vendor who catered to dishing grilled fish and potatoes to guests while Ice Excellence took care of drinks as the midas touch of Seamless event did wonders with the interior decoration of the hall. Their offers and services complemented the event. They were indeed the backbone and part of the success story of this year’s awards ceremony. Guests had a great evening and fun in its totality. Some of them are already looking forward to the next edition of the awards which promises to be bigger and better come 2023.
