In celebration of City People Magazine’s 28th anniversary, the magazine’s team visited Abiodun Caroline Duro-Ladipo, the legendary Nigerian actress and wife of the late playwright Duro Ladipo, at her residence in Ibadan. The visit was to honor her contributions to Nigerian theatre, particularly her iconic roles in Oba Koso and Moremi Ajasoro, and to recognize the lasting legacy of her late husband.

During the visit, Abiodun Duro-Ladipo shared heartfelt stories about her life with Duro Ladipo and their joint efforts in preserving Yoruba culture through theatre. She reflected on her husband’s deep love and care, as well as the challenges he faced in marrying her due to her father’s initial reluctance. Although Duro Ladipo passed away 46 years ago, she spoke passionately about him, revealing that she still feels his spirit in their home—a promise he made to her before his passing.
