BRIEF HISTORY
Kuta Kingdom is the historical Owu-Kuta that was established in the Mid-15th Century after their migration from Orile-Owu, the ancestral headquarters of all Owus led by its founder, the Great Akindele Anlugbua who won several wars with tremendous success as the undefeatable protector of his people.
Akindele was one of the sons of the first Olowu of Owu-Ipole, HRM Oba Ajibosin Asukungbade whose mother was Olawumi Iyanude, daughter of Oduduwa of Old Ife dynasty.
Princess Iyanude is the mother of Owu Kingdom. She was the first child among the seven children of Ojodu.
Akindele’s only son was Morolahun who became the first Oluwu of Kuta (1457-1552).
The Olowu of Kuta became officially recognised as a First-Class King since 1966. The Kuta Kingdom has 24 Bales and 23 villages, four of which have expanded into towns namely: Ikoyi-Kuta, Aiyedade, Railway Station and Konkon. Till date, the four Ruling Houses of Kuta emerged from the four male sons of Morolahun.
TRANSFORMING THE KINGDOM
According to the Koran, “that which God writes on the forehead, thou will come to it”. Whatever may be the final verdict of history, there is a sacred conviction that the Olowu has come to the throne of Owu-Kuta Kingdom at a young age; saw the intrigues and problems that overwhelmed some of his predecessors; he took the bull by the horn and subdued them.
On ascending the throne of his fore-fathers, he has united all the four (4) ruling houses together; a mission considered impossible in the past; and extended a Royal hand of fellowship to other illustrious Princes of the Ruling Houses. Having enhanced the progress of the Kingdom and given it stability, character and DIRECTION. He is indeed, the architect of innovation. A King with great vision who created in his mind, the image of modern Owu-Kuta Kingdom.
The Kingdom is benefiting more under his reign with great achievements.
A notable developmental monument he initiated and achieved is the “Lt Gen. TY Buratal Balley Bridge” at Kuta, across Osun River, linking Ede.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
Oba (Dr) Adekunle Oyelude is a highly detribalised Nigerian and a pro-establishment nationalist of repute. He is a man of integrity who is able to adapt and integrate ideas effectively in solving business and communal problem. He has ability to work as a team player with effective leadership qualities, work under pressure, as an achievement-driven professional and a fast learner of new ideas.
Other mortals with such an intimidating litany of achievements would swagger with such superlative pomposity that the imperial Nero would be cowed before them. But true to his nature he has always demonstrated that true royalty is not living in vain pomp but in great virtue adorned with humility.
HRM Dr Oyelude is that superior gentleman that is modest in speech but irrepressible in his actions. His transformation of Owu-Kuta Kingdom; based on his capacity to harness the assistance of friends and well-wishers; his diplomatic engineering of his people; his tireless efforts at persuading and winning over known detractors are special gifts that God endowed him with.
The virtues of his kingly discipline were not learnt in the university but in the school of adversity. In the governance of his people, he has tried to be just and fair to all. To be perfectly just is an attribute of the divine nature, to be just to the best of his abilities is the glory of a good King. As a good king he will forever remain a land mark on the road of humanity; and will forever be a reference point in Owu-Kuta and the nation at large.
